I don't think too many people need to be convinced, me included, but there is a lack of confidence in the Astra Zenica vaccine which has now been suspended in 21 countries world wide.
I think a lot of people are measuring the risk of contracting Covid against the risk of getting blood clots at the moment.

Sorry Mike but actual facts wont help. Wearing my tin hat and denying that the virus is non existent should see me ok. I am sick and tired of the world reporting all the fake deaths and overfull hospitals. Why keep reporting fake news? Mr trump was 100% right..inject bleach and look at the sun. I have had blood clots that all but killed me. I have multiple on going health issues as a result of the clots. I'm on blood thinning meds for life. Yet I'll be getting which ever vaccine the DR decides I should have. (Only laziness has stopped me from getting vaccinated up to now). But even with my history of blood clots I figure covid will knock me off way before any vaccine induced clots. The reality is you have way more chance of dying going to get the vaccine than you have from the vaccine.
Get it done and lets get this bloody country back to 'normal'.

Your blood clots have nothing to do with vaccine induced clots. They're completely unrelated.

I got the Astro vacc yesterday. What's puzzling me is I now have a small pellet shaped lump about the size of a grain of rice under the skin at the back of the neck, just below the scull where they stuck me with the needle. Anyone else got a lump there too?
Oh, it vibrates like a Mexican bean as I drive past the local mobile phone tower. Mmmm feels nice.

I'm just passing on the information that my father's hematologist told me during our teleconsultation earlier this week. My father has been on warfarin for decades, and he is now recovering(?) from ITP, another serious blood disorder. His arm has developed serious blood clots as a result of a recent hospital stay.
Maybe your hematologist should confer with my father's hematologist, or perhaps he could read what Professor Vally has to say:

A very good mate got his first AZ jab yesterday..
I have been working with him this morning and he shows no side affects at all.
He was a bit worried as he is prone to blood clots but relied on the advice from his doctor to have the jab. Like he said, he has more chance of a blood clot when he flys to Tazzie later in the year.
Angie and I are booked for the last week this month. We could not get in any earlier unless we elected to travel to other areas.

Both my partner (who takes various heart and blood medications) and I, have now had our second AZ vacation, we did not experience any side effects from either jab.

Actually my father's hematologist advised Dad to wait at least 6 weeks until he recovers from ITP before he has his jab. That's because he is being medicated with steroids which suppress his immune system. The reasoning is that a vaccine would be ineffective in his current condition because he would not be able to mount an effective immune response.

GPs and specialist are the only worthwhile advisers because they know exactly what condition has caused clotting or other blood disorders (eg thrombin anomalies) in the past. Some clotting/thrombin conditions are irrelevant and the AZ vaccine is OK but others are not and Pfizer is the vaccine of choice. Please only listen to EXPERT advice and base your own personal decision on that.

If you have pain in joints, headaches, muscle pain after the first vax it merely shows that your immune system is working properly. After the first vax up to 20% of those vaccinated will have some side effects this is not a bad thing. After the second vax up to 60% will have a reaction again not a bad thing.
I would be concerned it there was no reaction this could mean that your immune system is under performing as the whole idea is to kick start your immune system to recognise and fight the virus.

Its negative statements like these that create the doubt and has permeated the experts speech about the virus from the get go.
They would get a better result if they used less ambiguous terms rather than, "unlikely" "may"ïncrease your risk" either it does or it doesen't.

Dorian I will follow my hematologists advice and not some one who passes on second hand information on a forum without any background knowledge. FWIW my hemotologist says I'm ok to get the vaccine. But I'm in a very high risk group and will need to be monitored for a time. I'm a card carrying blood clot case!! I have a card on me all the time in case I ever have an accident or something.
Don't make assumptions based on someone else's experience.
If in doubt follow your Dr advice and not that found on an rv forum.

Quite a bit it would seem.......
over the last few weeks I have been asking mates/others/family ..."have you had your jab yet?"
The responses in the (vast) majority have been something like
a) the virus is B/S
b) I dont normally get the flu jab
c) I will wait until much much later (This was by far the most common response)
d) I am not getting blood clots (most if not all vaccines adminersted in NT have been Pfizer)
e) Their not putting that sh?t in my body
Not one person mentioned "ANYTHING" about getting their DR's advice.
Sadly for me one of the above was my 97yr old mother!!

According to my Dr Pfizer has also been linked to the same sort of blood clots as the AZ vaccine. It's just that Pfizer has a better PR team and doesn't release that information whereas AZ has been upfront about it from the beginning.
We all (everyone on the world) need to get vaccinated if we're to have any chance of beating this pandemic. While people are missing out due to supplies, or selfishly choosing not to have the vaccine, only gives Sars-cov-2 more chance to mutate into a version that the vaccines won't work against. So far, people who are fully vaccinated have had a 100% chance of avoiding death no matter what vaccine is used but that will not continue if people avoid vaccination.
As I've said before, there are too many people in the world and the death of those who refuse to have the vaccination is getting rid of some stupid ones.

Funny you mention this a few weeks back we had an appointment with a respiratory specialist in CQ when asked about getting the covid jab for my partner who has a rare respiratory issue that effect approximatly 100 people in Australia each year. When asked if she should get the jab his response was not at this stage until she see's her surgeon, when pressed about which one to get he replied either as they are both having blood clotting issues.
We had an appointment with the surgeon and after him one with her thoracic specialist, asked both of them about the jab and the reply was yes get it, I asked about which one and in my partners case because she takes blood thinners it was whatever is available, in my case the AV is ok. I asked what is causing the blood clotting apparently those that get clots have low something or other blood count.
As soon as our local clinic has stock we will be lining to have the jab.

Too right BGT. I have DVT, take blood thinners also. Got the first jab the other day, Dr said it wont be an issue. However, I did get dizzy in the waiting room lol. Apparently my blood pressure dropped a little, but it was fine in about 15 minutes lying down.
