I have cheated, Went to Wollongong via Picton. It was still quite steep though, but several lanes of traffic. Tucked myself in behind a truck at 38KPH. In manual gear, kept thinking about how hot the drum brakes are getting. The Aviation museum tomorrow maybe, but at present bracing for the fire & weather conditions.

Glad to see you made it down ok Ian , you really got to know your caravan brakes , to go down those mountains . Following a truck is the best way , using gears for brakes exactly like the truck . The easiest way back over is through the back of Albatross Navy Airstrip at South Nowra, where there is another aviation museum , a very easy climb , long and gradual , then a very steep but very short decent , into Nerriga . Back onto the tablelands .

The Albatross Navy Airstrip museum, will ease your boredom, for a bit, Ian
As I went inside, (2014), they slapped a sticker on my Tee shirt, when I paid
At the end of the day, I was in a free camp, (forgot exactly where) A gent came up to me, and asked did I enjoy my visit to the museum
I obviously asked how he knew, I had been there
We both laughed, when he mentioned that I still had my sticker on
Grey Nomads, we can not take them anywhere, can we

Went to the HARS museum yesterday, quite impressive, although our guide must have been hanging out for a coffee, the wife said it took us 3 hours. I kept asking myself where do they get the money ?, its a private organization, fairly new big hangers, and keeping all those aircraft in flying condition. The Super Connie was nice to look through. Its more like an aviators men's shed. The fires and weather has died down, may try for Kangaroo Valley to day.

Whenarewethere . Have a look at this train set . Taken near PICK THIS PLACE .
Hi Ian, Have you tried bird watching? A pair of binoculars & a book/app & check out what is in each area that you visit. There's too many interesting ones out there to get bored. And as some species are seasonal, check the locations twice a year. DD/Olive-oil could add some hints too.
Haha DD/olive oil have moved to another caravan forum
