I don't believe it is a conspiracy but think we should also be seeing confirmed active cases in the figures that is in Victoria today we see total confirmed cases 1268, with 14 having passed away and a further 1015 having recovered that means that there are currently 239 active cases in Victoria.

I can't see an info problem at all. It's on the tell every day. One person is reading more into simple information and over concerning them selves.
Some one got it right ....stay home and don't worry.

Testing is not done randomly. There are strict criteria. They are listed on https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert/what-you-need-to-know-about-coronavirus-covid-19

One could argue that the number of infected could be higher than those tested because there are reports that some people are asymptomatic.
* Australian deaths: 59 (24 in NSW, 14 in Vic, four in Qld, six in WA, five in Tas, two in ACT, four in SA). 16 were passengers on the Ruby Princess.

The current crisis will have analysts in a frenzy for a long long time. They will all pour over the data and all come up with different conclusions. The keyboard warriors will raise all the conspiracy theories and voice their expert opinions. But in the end we are all stuck where we are in the hands of the authorities. No point stressing cos that only causes more stress. And more stress lead to more stress!!!
FWIW, on April 8th I was scheduled for major, urgent surgery. (Tumour). Then it was pulled forward by the surgeon to the 1st of April. It needs to be done within 60 days. So far the surgery has been off and on 5 times. I have private health and the hospital has beds not being used. The beds have been put aside for covid-19 use. The surgeon is jumping up and down on my behalf. But no deal. Do you think I believe in an over reaction? Do you think I believe in conspiracy theories? Do you think I'm worried? All I know is that the authorities have to do something. But how much something is what the issue is.

Hi Gundog,
Regardless of your thoughts, our Premier (Qld) has said you cannot come here - you're not wanted but if you try, it could cost you $1337.
We previously had planned to be on our way to Canberra, SW Victoria but we can't.
I'm glad we have Morrison as PM & not Trump - who should be held accountable for the deaths in his country!
And for the fans of James Bond, Alister McLean, Clive Cussler, etc - of course there's a conspiracy! Look how many cases there are in Russia, North Korea & where it originated - China. Can't have a world war anymore due to the UN but can release germs to wipe out populations more effectively!!
Tony,
We've had our flue shots - have you?

National stats broadcast on Sky News 30 mins ago:
6303 coronavirus cases in Aus
3265 recovered
59 deaths
Of the active cases:
2979 currently infected
2899 (97%) mild condition
80 (3%) critical condition
Not presuming any opinion, but these numbers are more complete than some media outlets choose to reveal.

IMO one potentially useful COVID-19 metric, which doesn't feature in the media, would be the prevalence of influenza in the community. If border lockdowns, social distancing, frequent hand washing and other precautions were working perfectly, then ideally we should be seeing zero cases of the flu, especially since these measures are supported by a vaccine.
I would like to ask Dr Norman Swan, who is the ABC's resident medical expert, how it was that his own precautions didn't prevent him from contracting a common cold.

We don't need to try as we have been in QLD before this ruckus really evolved, if you bother to read the entire thread you would have noticed that.
So the latest update from the Dept of Health, there is 1 less person in hospital, 1 extra in ICU and less than 50 new cases nationally, there are now more people who have recovered than there is that still have the virus.

For a smart person your pretty dumb, at the time of that post which was not in this thread there was no boarder closures in QLD, look at the timeline Thursday the 19th we crossed into QLD on Sunday the 21st still no boarder closure invoked.
On advice received instead of travelling in western QLD for 6-8 weeks, we travelled directly to our NQ home, where we have our doctor.
Wonderful how you pick and choose to from other threads to attack me personally, you think you know all about me, please enlighten all and sundry where our home is ?

Emerging data are already showing the flow on effects in regards the Covid-19 virus precautions, are being seen in fewer cases of the seasonal flu this season. I am pretty sure the general population would not support the full range of COVID-19 precautions each year to stop the usual spread of the flu. However, I suspect there will be a widespread adoption of better personal hygiene in the future.

As his last post on this forum indicates he was in Qld but, anyone who tells fibs, needs a pretty good memory.
I will attach his first post from the other place at the bottom of this post.
He was advised by so many not to do what he has done and one of the problems highlited was the lack of medical services and now it appears, they need a doctor.
Gundog or Cod or what ever your name is you are a complete idiot who has no rite to inflict your stupidity on any other Aussie because of your selfish requirement to be in Qld for the winter.
You have put anyone that comes into contact with you at risk as well as your stupid selves.
What part of Stay at Home or Stay Put dont you understand.
Here is what Cod said.
Hi Rob/Angie...please mark this date in your diary as the first time I've agreed with you!Well done. This Cod fella has little understanding about weights, particularly the effects of a WDH,so I am a little bit suspicious of his ability to understand anything that requires logical analysis.Cheers

as the PM himself and his colleagues well know, the economic fallout of this bug is going to be horrendous unless they can achieve the balance they are trying for. sadly, if that fallout does occur, the number of deaths will far outweigh those from the virus, and those deaths will be across the age brackets, not just or even mainly with us oldies. any of you chappies been paying attention to the global economic woes of the past decade or more? the global debt is three times + the global GDP ... google the debt statistics for Australia (and other key economies, eg, USA, China) or just go directly to the debt clock ... that will put all of this into perspective. yes, we should (and must) stay home for the foreseeable future (at least 18months i'm afraid) but that wont solve the wider problem ... so do please look more broadly to be truly informed. oh, and as an economist and statistician I would also suggest you have a look at the Bureau of Statistics website - their tables are also informative.

Hi gundog or Cod,
From you Post in that thread you were strongly advised by many not to travel as was then being advised by authorities.
Travelling really has nothing to do with borders because the very next shop, service station, public toilet etc can be a source of you and any other traveller contracting the Virus. If you are in contact then YOU become the carrier and then spread the disease.
Because of yours and many others careless actions the states then found the need to close the road borders. The topic then went on for a few pages before it was eventually closed.
You and some others travelled against advice just to cross the border so that you would be in Qld before they closed the border.
If you think for one minute that your actions will be applauded by the majority on any forum then you are delusional.
The medical services are stretched to capacity every year with the migration of people coming to small towns In Qld for the winter. During this pandemic the resources are stretched even more.
You are obviously in Qld now and I do hope your wife will get the medical care she needs but please do not take this as me condoning your selfish efforts.
Regards
Angie

I recon it is up to us, to not over react to a reactionary. When thing become to much for some folks, they may say some irrational things.
I don't get how writing that irrationality down into a caravan forum is a solution, but it is getting more prevalent.
