My concern is more about how I feel in a few month's time. How one feels the next day is of little consequence nor is it an indication of its safety.
It concerns me that a politician is telling me a certain vaccine is safe when he has had the alternative.

A message came through on smartphone yesterday, (wife only saw it today)
The people who gave us the vaccine, asked us if we had any symptoms
We could answer Y for yes, or N for no, or STOP to opt out of answering
We have no symptoms of anything going wrong

I wonder what button you push if you are too crook to answer Tony?
I saw on the news that Denmark is ceasing the AZ vaccine. I wonder why they are not listening to our "experts" over there.

My wife and I had the first vaccination of AZ 5 days ago with no after effects. Next, in a couple of weeks, we'll go for the annual Flu and in July seek the 2nd AZ dose. Got to keep the anti-bodies working hard!

how long after you have the covid shot before your "immune" ? just read that the flu shot reaches its peak protection 3-4 months after injection

I read 2 weeks after the second shot you have your best protection, but, you can still get China Virus with much less chance of it being severe.

The Covid Four Stage Strategy
In stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
In stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

Seems the military is now in charge of the organization!!!
But any wonder it's a mess. Qld didn't vaccinate front line Drs and nurses. SA said they got twice what was promised so never used it. It seems from the outside that the inmates are running the asylum.
Now will the states take notice of the military?

Scott Morrison 'in no hurry' to open borders as he pleads with Australians aged 50 to 70 to get vaccinated
I filled in the government form to see when I can get the vaccine for someone over 50.
I can't move quicker than the government in this situation!
I just had a long talk to my sister in law in the UK who is a nurse, and has seen it all first hand. She she has had the phiser jabs(sick spelling i know) and so has my aging father in law the rest of the family have had the other (A.Z.) one and they are all OK.
Most of the UK family have actually had Covid, except for my father in law. My dad (94) had it and died.
Interestingly my 53yr old sister in law has had Covid and it was dreadful, yet she still had to have the Covid vax, as you can sometimes get Covid more than once, She said there are nurses who got Covid during the 1st wave who have just got it again; so I figure I'll take my chances with the jab.
We also discussed the fact that the pill has a higher risk of blood clots but we've both been on that in our lives. So I've decided to get my flu shot first then talk to my Dr and take his advice as I'm a little concerned about spacing the flu shot, the Covid shots and my Prolia (for osteoporosis) shot. In the end everything we do has a risk. I was almost involved in a head on collision coming back from Victoria on Tues because of some idiot coming the other way; anyway that's my 2bobs worth.

Blood clots are 'common'. Clots from DVT during flying, long bed rest etc are with us all the time and most folks never know it and the body absorbs the clot. You can have a blood clotting issue simply due to your DNA. It's only when a clot breaks away from where it's located, or breaks up, that they become dangerous. I'm sure that there is now an awareness that lowers the risk even further. As for who's to blame for the slow distribution? You can't distribute something you haven't got. I would rather be in Australia where the risk for covid is all but zero than in the UK where vaccination are rolling out faster.

in an attempt to get this thread back on track of recording actual vaccination stories.........
I received my first jab of AZ last Friday.
The area of the injection was a tad sore that night. I had to sleep on the other side. (Boo Hoo) And woke up with a headache which promptly disappeared after a couple of panadol.
Now, on Monday, I must say there is still some mild discomfort in my arm but nothing to write home to mother about.

I had my first C19 AZ vaccine this morning the second to follow in three months.
Although I'm under 70 I qualified for this round, it seems, because I'm on various blood pressure medications. I only went to see my GP for a repeat prescription and he said "Do you want the Covid vaccine?", "You bet!", said I rolling up my shirt sleeve :)
So even if you are under 70 it's worth asking your quack if you qualify.
A very simple intramuscular injection and, after three hours, no side effects.

I haven't opted for Covid vaccination yet. Given my low level of interaction with crowds or anything approaching a crowd, my GP deems my risks are low. Maybe my next visit will change that POV and I'm sure we'll know more too. I'm really posting to remind everyone the risk factors for death and illness are additive. That is, each factor increases your risk not replaces another factor. Comparison of Covid illness and death with other causes of illness and death are simply meaningless. So avoiding a Covid vaccination on the basis that other things are more likely to kill or need hospitalization are poor logic and misinterprets "risk". The flip side ?? The risks of side effects, with or without underlying health issues and their treatment protocol side effects, are additive. They never become lower, only increase. So if you have health factors with either anecdotal or measured that might add (or increase), ask your GP if they don't mention it. Stay safe, question your GP and base your decision on your specific circumstances and don't base your decision on social media or news media reports.

Seems wife and I will be a long way down the list, not quite old enough and lacking chronic conditions. We did have the annual Flu jab this morning. Protection from 4 variants in this years inoculation. Quick Dr visit first, Dr said last years Flu season was marked by a low case load and this year should be the same. Positive out of COVID is the mask wearing and lots of hand hygiene. GP also says not to get too anxious about not being on the COVID vax list yet. As more are vaccinated, the risks to the unvaccinated decrease as long as you continue to be careful.

It's not the prescriptions that qualify you for the Covid vaccine, it's the conditions/diseases that those medications treat. My side effects didn't become noticeable until 8hrs after at 2am.

A bit better this morning, now I just feel achy and lethargic. Panadol helps, but I had more than my share last night.
Hopefully it will dissipate as the info states.

I hear on the radio this morning that about 50% aren't keeping their vaccine appointments.
So are they more scared of the vaccine or covid? Covid, as I see it, is a far greater risk and with bigger consequences. I worry about the media playing doctor.
