"sites generally are populated by crackpots who have too much time on their hands"
YEP.
There is usually 1 or 2 Xspurts as well.
My mouse gets a good workout in some places and I don't mean a mouse from the mouse plague. I hate those mieces to pieces.
Hi Doug. You seem to have selectively quoted my post in an effort to have an underhand dig at me?.For your benefit, and to correct what may have been a mistake on your part,THIS is what I wrote."Montie's advice is good,as those 'bleating and moaning' sites generally are populated by crackpots who have too much time on their hands".Hope this clears any confusion, but I would appreciate it if you could correctly quote me in future.Thanks.

Regardless of the above bickering. Mike I've watched a few YouTube reviews and read some reports. There seems to be a lot of positives for Snowy River. In fact I haven't come across much negativity. Maybe I should be worried!! But again thanks. Brisbane RV show in a few weeks. All being well Snowy River will be there and we can have a good sticky nose.

Be careful of owners facebook pages, they can be very very clicky.
I know the one for my van is very clicky and they WON'T tolerate much negativity without the possibility of being banned.
I have heard this about many other brands facebook owners sites as well!
Walking around caravan parks and talking with owners is very helpful. usually
cheers

Hi bgt
Please let me know what you think of them, either via PM or, preferably, a forum post.
I have an Amateur Radio friend who is on his second, he started with a SR-15 and after a year of so upgraded to the larger SR-19 (same as mine). Another friend who has many years of caravan ownership and has always been a Jayco man was so impressed with mine he seriously considered switching from Jayco, he didn't in the end but I can't remember why.
I understand SR are selling very well and have taken significant market share from Jayco which says something I think....

Thanks Mike. We are still in the "will or wont we" stage of going from a motorhome to a caravan. But given your feedback and what I've seen on the internet, yes we believe everything on the internet, Snowy River looks good.

Good to read a "good news story" about a manufacturer

Yep, a bunch of crackpots on a one sided forum on FB....just the advice you need when making a buying decision!
Yep. The advice from people who have had no satisfaction from shonky dealers and rogue manufacturers - Check also the Tribunal cases against those named on Lemon site. Then you can truly discern where the truth lies.
Good advise Possum, as far as crackpots, WOW, must be a lot of "crackpots" out there with problems with their vans and dealer warranty issues??
They can't be ALL wrong Monty.......can they!!
Ian
Monties ADVICE (not 'advise' ) is good,as those "bleating and moaning" sites generally are populated by crackpots who have too much time on their hands, and love to moan to anyone who will listen about problems which would not exist if they had done due diligence.Pathetic.It is much the same as members who know nothing about weights,go out on their own,buy a van that is too big for their car,and then cry "But nobody told me".Grow up, put on your "Big Boy" pants, and take responsibility for your own actions. Was it not the Lemon site that recently was sued, and lost, after publishing untruths about a certain brand of caravan?Blaming someone, anyone, seems to be becoming a pass time for so many people who seemingly will not take responsibility for their OWN actions.Grow up.Cheers
I need to correct you here. They were sued and lost. BUT later won on appeal.
Also regarding due diligence its often suggested its the buyers fault for buying from a dodgy manufacturer.
Well wether I buy a toaster, car, bbq or van, I expect it to all work as represented. I also expect them to abide by the regulations regarding warranties. Not duck and weave like many in this industry. And under the law it's also expected. I should not have to try and work out who makes a product that works amongst all of the manufacturers. They should all simply work as represented.

I have to agree with you Ian, it seems to be getting worse.
Yobarr, I have read a lot of your posts about weights etc and you seemed to be trying to be helpful to Newbies.
But lately, you are flying off the handle at the drop of a hat, especially the thread about Solar Panels at home, downright rude.
Everyone has an opinion, but don't force it down others throats, just chill out and take a happy pill Chris.
Cheers Bob

OK folks, we seem to have got off track here somewhat. I'm interested in SR vans too as I may consider one as a replacement if anything ever happens to our van. Anyone else got any comments on Snowy River vans from experience?

G'day Settle4More,
Do Snowy River caravan owners have a club - like the Jayco Owners Club?
You might pick up something from there if such a club exists.
