not much point in complaining if you haven't had the shot as you could end up being part of the problem
I can't have the AZ, my Doctor has recommended the Pfizer, but the Gov. has denied me that , until their is more of the Pfizer, in the country at the end of the year, or early next year. So this comment, is somewhat discrimatory. Not everybody, over 50 can safely have the AZ.

I hope the border closures and and the lockdown in Victoria dont cause too many issue for many. We in Australia have lived with a false sense of security, that Covid was pretty much under control and we didnt really have much to worry about. You only have to look at countries with a similar situation, Singapore and Taiwan. Both had low vaccination rates and are paying the price for it. People the only way to halt the spread of this virus is to get vaccinated as soon as possible. As the Victorian authorities stated, if more people, were vaccinated they might not be facing a lockdown

I guess the issue is, even though you have had the jab you can still SPREAD it!
You may NOT die but the people that you give it too, even your family and friends, possibly will.
The worry appears to be this new Indian strain of the virus

The crazy thing I can't figure out is how they give everyone 12 hours notice to get out of the state. I can imagine stuff being thrown in cars and caravans and heading north. Infected or not!!

With the AZ vaccine I believe after about a month a 30% reduction in transmission, 60% after the second injection. So not an overly effective rate. But anything is better than nothing.

Or if we do it at night would anyone see us Haha just joshing.....
As we are not in normal times, due to the Covid-19
The goalpost on state border crossing, are changing all the time
Dick0, has given good advice Best you go directly to the relevant Covid information site to see the latest official media releases.
It looks like anyone, leaving Victoria at the moment, (7 day lockdown starts tonight), may have to get tested/quarantine when entering other states
To the best of my knowledge, Victoria (at the moment), said you will be allowed to leave the state, but must follow other states rules
I would not like to guess, what the normal will be next week

I believe for anybody entering NSW from VIC after 4.00 PM this afternoon Victorian rules go with them and they must lock-down at there destination from what I read in the news.
I received my AZ jab earlier this week after waiting 2 months. The government really is hopelessly and dangerously inept. If it weren't for those people who are holding out for Pfizer, or who don't wish to be vaccinated at all, I would probably have had to wait even longer.

Q. Whats the point being vaccinated if you can still give it to other people?
Even if you catch the virus, being vaccinated will mean a lower viral load and lower your chance of being contagious.
In the UK, one dose of the vaccine halves the chance of spreading COVID to household contacts.

This is the kind of news story that we should be seeing in Australia:
"Israel will end local COVID-19 restrictions following a successful vaccine rollout that has nearly stamped out new infections, the country's Health Ministry said on Sunday."
The differences between Israel and Australia are that the Australian government can't manage crises, only create them, and Israel is in a constant state of war, so personal sacrifice and community spirit are part of their national psyche.

Let's all start a blame game. And lets not use any facts. Isn't that how it works?
1/ the vaccine will NOT stop the spread. It may slow it down. Not proven and many reports confirm that fact. Yes we are all better off with the vaccine. So it lowers the risk. And who here has been vaccinated?
2/ the constitution make the fed government responsible for quarantine. States responsible for health. At the very first federal cabinet meeting ALL the states wanted, and got, responsibility for quarantine. So don't blame the feds. The states took it on and are responsible. Look up the facts.
3/ vaccine supply. Folks went mad when the feds ordered different types of vaccine. Now they are saying the feds should have ordered more. And sure lets blame the feds for companies not honouring their contracts.
4/ why has NSW been so successful if the system is broken? Why aren't the other states having lockdowns like Vic?
5/ why didn't the Vic government not notify exposure sites and left it up to customers to tell the owners? Yes that happened and yes they said that isn't their responsibility!!
6/ why have the other states all got working Qcodes when Vic still hasn't got their system up and running. Why has the Vic parliment house got their own Qcode.
There are many more examples.
It's a **** up. Vic simply cant manage a chook raffle.

"The outbreak that started this week in Melbourne's north has now grown to 30 cases.
There were 47,462 test results received, breaking the previous record of 42,000.
There were 17,223 vaccination doses administered through state-run sites -- also a record for the state and up on 12,677 on Wednesday and 15,858 on Tuesday."

Victoria opened testing sites on Wednesday. Then closed 20 minutes later because they had reached capacity. Huh? Who plans something and closes it only 20 minutes after it opened? Same with their web sites and phone lines.
So plan A is now off the agenda!
