Motorhome owners don't care about D shackles. Wheel bearings do not seem to be an issue either.
A really good and valid comparison of the difference faced by caravan vs MH operators. Do not forget the WHD confusion. I have both Campervan and a Caravan. Campervan gets twice the use of the caravan just because it is easier.

bentaxlebabe you are talking about something without knowing the facts. I'll repeat it just one more time. The CMCA has worked closely with various other clubs to put up a united voice when lobbying. Again I'll repeat that the CMCA even financed a joint group. Meetings were held at the CMCA's headquarters in Newcastle.
Simple thing is that if you don't want to join an organization don't join. But before you make a statement be sure of your facts.
Have to voice agreement with everything said here. Try joining a group for (Brand Name) caravan without owning one of the (Brand Name) caravans. There are no second class members in the CMCA, members can move in and out of membership levels depending on whether or not they own a qualifying vehicle.

We have a caravan and have been members of the CMCA.
Don't give a stuff about their club politics and if there is any such thing it doesn't affect us in any way.
Until spending the majority of last year traveling around Qld we had never traveled through that state and found the CMCA offerings of help.
Using the clubs facilities/camps and discounts, saved us in excess of the annual fee, and was another source of info as well as Wikicamps etc.
Having no direct contact with the club itself as such, saw no 'discrimination' against caravans from them.
Actually, never seen any discrimination against us as caravanners in over 20 odd years.
