Hi,
i too am reluctant to have the vaccine and am not anti vaccines. I remember being told last year that the likelihood of a vaccine was extremely unlikely yet we are now told they have been working on these vaccines for years. Why vaccinate healthy people with an experimental vaccine when the risk of COVID to them is so low. I also worry that we are only given one side of the story - what happened to variety of opinions and freedom of choice. We have been with tens of thousands of people from all over Australia and nobody knows anyone who has had the virus but they all know someone who has died or is dying from other illnesses. I am not a conspiracy theorist either - just have a good memory and what we were told in 2021 doesnt match what we are told in 2020

Don't stand outside in the near future because your chance of being struck by lightning is higher than that of dying from a covid vaccine.

We had our first vaccine back in May, only very minor side effects, that night I had the shivers for a while, took some panadol and went to bed and the next day felt fine. Due to have the 2nd dose next week.

Its perfectly safe and much safer than Covid. The vaccines arent experimental, they are tested and work. Had our second AZ today and we are very relieved to have had it. Dont go looking for conspiracy theories and dont go looking dumb reasons not to get vaccinated, just go do it. Protect yourself, protect your family and protect your community. FYI 3.79 BILLION doses have been administered worldwide, so its really conspiracy theory to call it experimental.

Opps, I forgot to mention that the wife and I, had our second shot of AZ around 19 June
At the first shot, I noticed that the second shot appointment was in 10 weeks, so I asked the question, about 12 weeks
I was told that it was (at that time), advisable to be given anywhere between 8 and 12 weeks

A couple of renters with two very young children are off overseas in a week with their two very young children, 1 & 3. The Dad's father is sick. They are overseas for two months, then fly back.
I hope they don't bring back any "gifts" for anyone else in our block of units as no one else in our building is vaccinated at this stage. We all want to get vaccinated.
Over the years his & her parents have regularly come here.
They managed to get the Pfizer vaccine.
The whole family are very nice.
But the real issue is, I do wonder why we have limits on the number of people who are stuck overseas & want/need for health/finances, to get back to Australia.
Something is not right.

We've had our vaccinations in full, AZ. I had a red, then bruised site for the first one; not sore, and that was the only side effect. Husband had no reaction. Both of us had no reactions whatsoever to our second shot which was June 15th. I cannot understand why people are so reluctant, better than having Covid.

Its about a fortnight since SWMBO and I had our second Astra Zeneca innoculation. Also had our regular Flu innoculation a couple of weeks after the first AZ. No reactions to any of the shots except a sore spot on the arm for a day or so. Next is the Zoster innoculation that is a freeby for the over 70s (me). Any risks with vaccines is miniscule and if you have any doubts at all, talk to your GP. Don't get your (mis)information from social media or Covidiots.

Whenever I read about a COVID-19 death in this country, my immediate response is, was the deceased vaccinated? If the authorities really want to overcome vaccine hesitancy, what better way to do it than to show us real results. So where is the data?

Almost *four billion* people have been vaccinated or nearly *half* the population of the planet - how much more evidence of lack of risk do you seek?

Heather, please excuse me if I am wrong, but are you not involved in the management of a caravan park? If so,you obviously would be in face to face interactions each day with many people, and you would be a prime candidate for the vaccine. If my memory has again failed me,and I have confused you with another person, please accept my apologies.Cheers

I acknowledge your freedom to choose. Pls also make a commitment to ensure you dont cause me to get infected if you should catch COVID and start to spread it around. Essentially, you should respect my freedom to get out and about without worrying about getting infected by people who make personal decisions that may have negative flow on effects to others.
