Dicko I can categorically tell you that there is no possibility of a risk free day just getting out of bed.
I know a bloke that skun his leg just fitting a trailer to a ball. He had done it for 50 years. The risk was just in the shadows. It contributed to his early death making him an invalid.
You are seeking a little to much guarantee.

When my life could be at risk I do not see myself seeking a little too much guarantee.
Can you guarantee that taking the vaccine is of no risk to my life. Well, can you?

I recall the Immunisation Card of the late 60's / 70's clearly, had its own yellow jacket. Went everywhere with your passport. No one got upset about getting the various vaccine shots then. It was just part of the travel process, that minimised the risk for you when travelling to "hot spots" where these diseases where prevalent. Don't see anything different today that would concern me.

Given your comment "my life could be at risk", clearly you do not expect your life to be at risk if you catch this dreadful virus.
No guarantee from me Dicko however, perhaps some helpful advice. Buy yourself a heap of "bubble Rap". Stay well away from society in general and that will probably be as good as any guarantee possible. Enjoy your lonely (but very safe life). I will join all the SENSIBLE folks and await mine (and wife's) second vaccination come July.
Keep safe Cobber.

So, you are saying...No, you cannot provide a guarantee.

So they cause intelligent people to think and reconsider their values... and you suggest that's a bad thing...?
No, not at all. People like Bolt and Jones make their money by stirring up listeners not smart enough to understand their reactions, the listeners that is, are what the Shock Jocks rely on to promote their brand. Intelligent people construct their judgements by access to a range of credible sources of information. It is quite easy to argue that Bolt and Jones, for example, have an agenda a lot distant from helping listeners make decisions about things like weather or not to get vaccinated. Bolt and Jones make their money by outraging people, both ways, not by disseminating properly researched vaccination outcomes.

Izabarack: I note you removed a line of your original post from my quote - given your explanation it is clear you did this in order not to appear to be contradicting yourself.
I do hope the psychology paper you wrote was a little more honest.

OK I'm no fan of Bolt or Jones. Can't watch them. But put your hand on your heart and swear that there are no 'over the top' commentators on the ABC, Nine or another media outlet for that matter. Try Laura Tingle on the ABC for a start.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and intelligent folks can figure out for themselves what they want to believe. Those not smart enough to figure it out start calling people names that they don't agree with. I watch and read for several outlets. Including Sky and the ABC. I know how to use the off button without the need to rant about someone I don't agree with.

This is the kind of rubbish that Jones routinely serves up to his critically challenged audience:
Here he is trying to stir up outrage that a "Muslim" city which he visited some years ago was observing Christmas in a much bigger way than Australia. Unfortunately for Jones, Macau is in fact a predominantly Christian city (because of its Portuguese history), and the total Muslim congregation of 400 persons is served by one mosque.

Dorian have you ever asked yourself why Alan Jone won all the radio ratings? Maybe, just maybe, the majority of Australian are smarter than you!!
OK I don't like him. He thinks everything is so simple. But most times the majority of Australians think he it correct.

The outrage is about Australia not acknowledging Christmas as it once used to and we are even discouraged from saying Merry Christmas. Instead we are supposed to say Happy Holidays. This is taking not offending someone too far. All our traditional holidays have been marred by such attitudes and not celebrated liked they used to be.
You missed the point dorian, or maybe you are trying to turn it around and to stir up more division.
Notice the names you call those who happen to disagree with you. Not a good way of supporting an argument (you have made it so) or are you trying to exhibit a superior knowledge. I really don't know what you are trying to say.

Jones and his ilk pander to the great unwashed, the very same reason reality TV is so popular with people who are barely able to to think for themselves.
Journalists, advertisers and politicians love em, so easy to sway.
Names again? I've got news for you. You are one of the great unwashed as well.

Do Dorian and Santa just think they would like to be shock jocks themselves?
For goodness sake can't anyone have a different opinion (and thats all it is their OPINION) to you ? Resorting to derision and calling names is a sign that you have no argument.

No name calling, simply underling the fact that the masses are easily manipulated.
