Victoria is run by a dictator........Dictator Dan and Deputy Dan. That said, I don't for one minute believe Dictator hasn't had his finger in the pie all the time he was away. It all smells of Dictator. ADF ranks etc don't come it into it.
Now, I'm going back into hiding cos I reckon this thread will get locked real soon. IMO this thread is bordering politics if not full on politics. Bugga! I've just added to it.

Are you still in front of the queue for the vaccine?

Vaccine jab wait blowout looms as AstraZeneca ditched for ages 50 to 59 amid blood clotting fears
VICTORIANS aged 40 to 59 seeking to book their first jab face waits of several weeks because the Covid-19 vaccination rollout has hit another hurdle.
Under new health advice, 2.1 million Australians in their 50s yet to be jabbed are now being told they should not have AstraZeneca.
Seven new cases of an extremely rare blood clot in Astra-Zeneca recipients in their 50s have prompted an expert immunisation panel to instead recommend the Pfizer shot for those aged 40 to 59, who are now eligible for a shot.
The shock move is expected to slow the rollout for several weeks, with Pfizer supplies significantly stretched, especially in Victoria.
Medical chiefs are still urging the 840,000 people in their 50s who have already had one Astra-Zeneca shot to return for their second dose, with UK data suggesting just one in every 666,666 people had a clot after the follow-up jab.
But doctors were reporting on Thursday that they were already getting cancellation calls.
Of 3.8 million AstraZeneca doses administered in Australia so far, there have been 60 clots reported. There are 22 people in hospital and two have died.

I heard an interesting comment by Dr Normal Swan on his ABC programme yesterday;
He said that normally, once they are approved and released, medications/vaccines do not receive any further scrutiny for side effects and it is only if a significant number of doctors happen to see and correlate problems that anything happens. He went on to state that the Covid vaccines have been quite different in that they have received massive after release scrutiny. So it may be that the blood pressure or other routine medicine you are taking has a far greater danger of side effects... but no one knows....

Mike the media must take a lot of the responsibility for the current situation. They have simply scared the $#@% out of many folks. Logic and the ability to put risk into perspective has made the situation much worse. Note that the same Mr Swan predicted 150000 deaths in Australia.
And why are we still seeing, on tv, long long media presentations with up todate running scores? There's an obsession with this situation that I simply don't understand.

Those with megalomania often show symptoms such as: condescension, overestimation of one's abilities, feelings of uniqueness, inflated self-esteem, and have a drive to maintain control over others. In addition to this, megalomaniacs have dreams of power, success and wealth.
IMHO some state premiers have become boarderline megalomaniacs, and those from Qld, Vic and WA are full blown megalomaniacs, lets hope the Victorian voters buck the trend and give the current mob the flick at the next election otherwise, the saying of You can fool all of the people some of time; you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time. unless they are fools all of the time.

Gundog I'm not so sure. The way many have been 'scared' by all this covid stuff I think they feel 'protected' by those who control them. Qld voted them back in. WA voted them back in. So go figure!! I have been amazed over the last 12-14 months at the lack of logic many folks have been able to apply to current events.

and based on your extensive knowledge and rational thinking, what does the Premier and Deputy hope to gain from locking down the State? What fortune befalls them by doing this, what fortune befalls the State by doing this? Pray tell
I see on the news last night that Labor's support has dropped considerably by protecting us, so they are not focused on winning the next election by doing this
I always love it when people actually become illogical about this - just take a second to think about it - what do they have to gain??
W.A. does the same lock-down stuff and has the BIGGEST election win of all time
I think you are very much a very much a vocal minority, the vast majority of people support the efforts, but people like you get all the air-time
Of course next you will be telling me it is a world wide conspiracy, all the Governments, who in a normal year, hate each others guts are all working together to just annoy us

Having lived in country Victoria throughout all the lockdowns I think the current government has done a reasonable job - not perfect but reasonable.
However I shall vote against Labor at the next state election *purely* because of its memorandum of understanding agreement with China in relation to the Chinese Belt and Road project. This was an utterly inappropriate thing for a state government to do and Dan Andrews would have known that well. I do not elect state governments in order that may set foreign policy for me. Complete overreach and he should go on that one issue alone.

Trevor57, quote, "the vast majority of people support the efforts", if those yelling at Dictator Dan are in the minority then how do you explain the drop in the polls?
Dan Andrews is a socialist and a megalomaniac. So for him it's about control. Typical of all those with the same views. However Andrews is fortunate in that the Victoria opposition is so weak they can't lay a hand on him in the polls.
