We will be towing an Adria which weighs in at about 1500kg fully loaded. We have not yet decided what vehicle would be the most suitable for towing - not planning real off road trips at this stage. At present we have a Toyota Aurion V6 but it is not suitable for the long haul being a front wheel drive. Thinking of getting a dedicated gas Ford Falcoln. Hubby is leaning towards an older Pajero dual fuel. I have heard that LPG can be very expensive in the more remote areas. We would really appreciate some advice from the old hands out in caravan land. Also is there any website where I can research fuel prices? Much appreciated.

I would recommend diesel.
LPG is the least available of all fuels away from the main highway routes, diesel is the most available.
Bear in mind that LPG usage will be higher than petrol when comparing prices, because it does not have the same calorific value, and diesel will give the best fuel consumption, especially towing, and therefore longer range for the same tank size.
Ask any semi driver what he uses.
This will give you fuel prices in WA as a comparison.
