My husband and I are getting the 'itch' and are starting to give serious thought to becoming Grey Nomads. I am getting very excited. It will be great to have my questions answered by some very travelled nomads. Looking forward to it. Cheers.

Welcome aboard! It's a fantastic lifestyle but addicting - once you get out there, it's very hard to stop. We've certainly found that some of the best advice you can get is from others who've actually been on the road. We once met a couple who had meticulously recorded detailed info about all the free and cheap camps they had stayed in over the several years they had been travelling. They let us borrow their notes one night to write down a few spots on our route (we weren't anywhere near a photocopy machine, sadly) and it not only saved us a fortune but helped us find some beautiful camps. Anyway, best of luck with your planning and trip.

My husband and I are on our way to doing the same thing. We sold our home 2 years ago and are now living in our van in Adelaide ready to take off within the next year. We enjoy reading the forum, there's some great information there. Good Luck.

Ah Silverfox, you must have met up with my mother in law - ha ha ha. She is the best I have ever met at mapping where they go, where they stay, what time they left, what time they arrived, what the road and camping conditions were like and could look up her book and tell you where they were at 11.42 on a particular travelling day.
Mind you, I have started doing that as it is a great reference to go back to when you plan your next trip.
