Hi all, First of all, thanks everyone for all the input and lively discussions we've been having here. It's a real help to everyone out there from those who are thinking about hitting the road, to those between trips and even for people who are currently travelling. It has been suggested that we organise a place to share photos - this is a fantastic idea. Currently, the forum is 'hosted' by a third party and there are a few limitations in terms of uploading images. The files must be in either jpg, gif, or bmp format and the total size of ALL images that you download must not exceed 1 mb. Note that there is a message which appears above the 'download image' box which states that 'images must not exceed 9.765 kb.' This is only if you plan to upload 10 images on the one post -- if you want to upload only one, it can be 1 mb. Of course you can also provide a link to your website (or picasso space) so that others can view photos that you have uploaded elsewhere on the web. I'll put a 'sticky' on this thread so that it stays at the top. Please let us know if you feel that the restrictions here are too limiting and we will find an alternative. PS: The image attached is a gorge at Karijini and the file size was 72 kb.
Hello Webmaster. Is it OK to link photos from photobucket? This is a common way of sharing pics on another forum I visit. Apparently it doesn't use up your bandwidth, or something like that. (I am not technical.) The photo below is directly linked from photobucket. Please let me know if this is not allowed.

We kinda grew to like Townsville. I know...it's a big town with lots of people....but still a it's nice and warm, and I can't help but remember it at this time, sitting on the south coast of NSW freezing me bits off!
BUT, a great inclusion to the forum. Ask and you shall receive indeed....as long as the powers are within earshot.
Does this link work? Contains photos from our first cruise. I will post more links later if it does work. Click on the photo.

and yet another joins our fold, A BIG WELCOME TO YA GENERAL LEE, you are right it is extremely cool to be able to put words in to pictures and vice versa, great photos starting to appear, if used properly this will become an extremely good thread, I remember a single mate of mine went on one of those cruises, couldnt get a dance, even offered to pay a lady for the privilige, misunderstood, face slapped, slinked off, didnt return to the dance floor ever again, lovely fellow as well

Hi Jill, Photo bucket is perfectly fine to use as are any links which take you to photos that have been uploaded somewhere else. PS - Love the beach at the Isle of Pines - I wish I was there now instead of here looking out the window at the frost and coping with numb fingers!

Great shots of the Bungle Bungles, Dave. It reminds me of when we were there a couple of years ago. We hiked in to the amphitheatre and were followed by a young-ish family. When they arrived they started singing these incredible hymns in Latin in perfect 4-part harmony. The acoustics and setting were perfect and it still gives me the shivers! Wish I'd had a camcorder. Back then, I thought my little 3 megapixel camera was very high tech but it had run out of battery power at that moment.

My god, harmony singers in the ampihteatre, that would have been absolutely amazing, the acoustics as you say are fantastic, did you try the whispering effect, one person stands at one end whilst the other is at the other, all speech can be heard at enormous distance, had a german couple going at it hammer and tong (whispering) we heard every word about, well, lets just say if he was a fireman his hose woudlnt reach the first floor, we were wetting ourselves still brings a giggle even now

Our trip to the ampitheatre was shared with a guitarist. It certainly adds to the experience.
