Have just been blow away with the prices of various after market bits for vehicles.
Decided I wanted, not necessarily needed, a pair of half decent driving lights so started with the local guys and prices ranges up and down the scale like the opera house orchestra .
Eventually decided on a pair of 150 watt units from a local at $248.00, not that overpriced in comparison to others shown I thought. As per usual with local suppliers didn't hold them in stock but could get them in . I decided not to bother I'd look around further and get back at a later date .
Browsing around the net, not for lights , came across the identical spec light, right down to the box they came in from another supplier at believe or not buy now price of $29.00 Pr .
Who said Ned was Dead
Pays to shop around I 'd dare say the local guy may well have obtained them from the same source and come in sucker

That is obscene.
Ned kelly, as you say is well and truly alive.
This a fact on whatever you buy. Good for you Wombat at finding the same item for the correct price and not the one well and truly inflated by your local dealer.
No matter what you are intending on purchasing, it always pays to shop around, and by that I mean on ebay and every resource available to us. Why should the fat cats get fatter at our expense. Money is not easy to come by at our age and every dollar saved counts. It would appear that becuase we are now seniors, the general population tends to think it can take advantage of us, so thats a tick on the wall for Sen Citizens.
I know that prices vary from dealer to dealer but that is bloody rediculous.
Good on ya.

Had a similar experience with Supercheap. They had some 6" 250watt sealed beams "on special" for $80 each...... Looked at them and thought that they were tres cool .... Waltzed around the corner to Autopro and exacary the same thing was on special for $49.95 a pair....
Yep only thing you can do is price everything, challenge every price and view every transaction with scepticism. It's unfortunatlery true, everyone is after every cent they can screw from you...

Yet another one for Super Cheap . Note those animal scarer thingo's that you fit to the bumper bar to piss the kangaroos off on the counter at the grand price of $25.00. Thought that's a bit rich , when they came out a few years back the $2.00 shops were flogging them for $1.50.
In BCF which is the Boating Camping and Fishing arm of Super Cheap displayed on the same card for $5.00 in either chrome of black.
That's what you get with centralized purchasing power , a bigger rip off
