So a few weeks ago I'm sitting with my GP who was giving me weird looks probably because of my head wear, but hey if Arabs can wear a tea towel on their head whats wrong with a custom tinfoil beanie... I digress the topic is arthritis and the fact that because of all the other mind altering drugs I'm on I can't take anti inflamatories in the quantity needed to get adequate pain control. Doc tells me that I should take ginger as it is a superb natural ANTI INFLAMATORY with no side effects apart from weight gain if you eat the crysalised stuff so I hooked into the ginger tablets and even have grated raw ginger in mashed potatoes (not everyones taste) and the honest truth is it is working, I haven't been this pain free in years and this is after glucosomine as well....

Ginger is also good for men's prostate as well. There is a ginger punch that is available and you can have it with water or lemonade or dry ginger. Makes a nice tall drink with a few icecubes on a hot day as well.
Not limited to the male gender either, good drink for everyone.
If anyone wants details of the ginger punch let me know.

Ginger is also great for the digestive system. I'm a gingerholic.
Fresh fruit juice with double ginger.
Glucosamine didn't work for my bones but celery seed extract is. So if I add ginger to the diet I should be a bit more mobile. That would be good.
Thanks for the clue Basil in the beanie.
I add ginger to some of the dishes I cook, but I haven't used it in mashed potatoes.
I might try it in my jellied fruit.

G'day Bas me ole mate.. seems we are both afflicted with similar needs to sustain some semblance of sanity due to past hostilities. I have by accident come across Buderim Ginger Refresher. Is a concentrated mixer. I have been diluting it with Soda Water. Refreshing, and complacence to so called good for you prescribed drugs. I no longer have a need for reflux medication, or antacid medications. Bloody fantastic drink...and, the best part is that it is an Australian produced item. A bit hard to find in the supermarket amongst all the cordial drinks, but bend the ole back / ask and it is there.
Enjoy

Is that the ginger cordial style concentrate? I use sparkling mineral water, but the effect is the same. I haven't used it for a while, but I will now.
Thanks Wombat.

Not answering for Wombat but we use the Buderim Ginger refresher with mineral water, tastes great, is refreshing and does a damned good job for us. We also keep some crystalised ginger in the car for long trips, it prevents or helps with upset tummies and also helps the arthritis.

Yes but it helps if you have a prostate and not just the remains of one after botched surgery....

Looking in my local Asian Grocery shop I discovered a Ginger & Lime tea which is very nice, claims to have the benifits of both the ginger extract and the lime....

Grizz,
Found your Buderin Ginger Mixer no worries at all it was right up there in the middle of the shelve staring me in the eye. I also found Buderim Naked Ginger which is uncrystallised.
I was talking to a lovely lady in the health food store and she said to grate raw ginger and soak it in water for another great drink.
