I would love to vote but my computer does not like your link. Is there a direct email address I can use?
The photos are wonderful. Two really stood out for me ...evoking very different emotions. One full of drama and contrasts in texture and one of complete tranquility..a place where I could easily lose myself.. Loved them.

Well...........
I have mixed emotions.
I am quite chuffed that I have a pic in the top six.
I am shattered however, because I am not going to vote for my own pic.
Thanks Steve for a job that was obviously performed with enthusiasm and skill, not withstanding the difficulty.
Cheers,
Peter

Lovely pics, one question 'Is that a skin diver on the rock in the water pic? Or are my eyes really that bad?

I've voted - at last.
It was altogether too-oo-oo difficult a choice.
Whoever wins, congratulations to all of the entrants for their fine submissions.
It just goes to show how much natural talent there is amongst the 'oldies', much of which has never been fully exploited.

I'm disappointed none of mine made the finals but when I look at the final 6 I can see why. Much better than I could ever do. I hope one day to be that good, I love photography.

If you mean the 'Majesty of Water' pic I don't think there is a skin diver anywhere.

Hi Jon On the top of the rock, to the right hand side. Looks like someone lying down looking over the water. I must need new glasses.
Cheers Allara

I think it is a row of trees or some sort of scrub. That rock is a long way away, would have to be a huge man to look like that from here.

You are correct, on zooming in on the original pic what you are seeing is a clump of trees/bushes about 15meters long, the actual rock is probably about 100 meters long. On the other side it actually has a round hole not far above the base with a waterfall pouring out. this pic shows the bush better also.
Cheers Jon

Thank you. I thought I was going potty. I didn't know how big the rock was from the original photo.

All powerful and beautiful photos, i only wish i could take something half as good.
I am a bit lost however by a comment made by Steve in one of the pictures. Why would a judge or anyone else other than the owner edit a submitted photo and then pass judgement?

I think he explained that. Is adjusting the trebble knob while playing a piece of music "editing" the music? I think not. The original is still intact. Who knows what the scene looked like to the human eye anyhow? My camera certainly does not record what I see, so some adjustment to what pleases the viewer is quite justified, IMO. You would be able to adjust it in some other way, if that suited you.
Cheers, Peter

Brilliant photos guys and congratulations to all the finalists.
I have been away and not had much time on here since returning so I think my vote may have been too late.
I have really enjoyed viewing all the amazing entries thats for sure.

Hi Capt Cream Bun I think it is my photo you are speaking about. I was so chuffed to have a photo selected, I don't know much about taking photos. I have always used a Kodak camera with the roll of film, many friends have commented about my prints, as it was getting harder and harder to buy rolls of film, my lovely hubby decided to buy me a digital camera, so when this photo was taken I knew nothing about focus etc., but now I have enrolled into a short course to learn about all these buttons, knobs and marks on my new machine....so watch out next competion! Congratualtions to our winners. Cheers, The Fredos

Must have been a hell of a battle to narrow them down to six though.
They are amazing.
