I have just aquired a vast box, and want to know how much power it uses,so I can get the right size inverter. The govt subsidised the install to my house, and all I had to pay was $220.

uses very little power, make sure you get a PURE SINEWAVE inverter a must for digtal tv, (or so I have been told) I use a 300 watt pure sinewave inverter.
Mrs W has tv on from about 1700 till 2300 and still plenty of power left in batteries.
What I like about the above unit is you only attach 1 cable to it and then to the dish and the signal comes up on the units screen, at this stage there is no need to have the vast decoder turned on, you then connect the cable from the vast unit and it's all setup in a few mins
