Hundreds of farms and rural properties remain isolated across the region after days of heavy rain, with relief efforts set to continue for several days.
Emergency Services Minister Michael Gallacher on Thursday extended the natural disaster zones to take in Gunnedah, Narrabri, Gwydir, Muswellbrook, Liverpool Plains, Tamworth and the Upper Hunter Shire councils.
This brings the total number of affected areas to 10.
"The natural disaster declarations for these areas activates a number of assistance schemes for home, land and business owners under the NSW Disaster Assistance Arrangements," Mr Gallacher said in a statement.
The shires of Moree Plains, Armidale Dumaresq and Inverell were declared natural disaster zones earlier this week, with entire parts of Moree and Wee Waa remaining underwater after downpours caused rivers to burst their banks

Thanks from us too Old Briney,
Guess we may have to develop a Plan B - in case we can't come back home via the Newell.

I tend to agree with Clare46, not all travellers have access to papers and tv/radio, they rely on "The Grey Nomads" site for info. I hope you didn't mean it the way it has come across yogi.

I did ask this question on behalf of JazzinAround just a few days back and only got one very helpful reply from lilly. As the results are conflicting now I'm not sure if she is able to get across to the coast from Forbes area. So are all the roads closed or not. Has the flooding got worse or not. Thats why we have this forum to help each other with information, Thanks Oldbriney for the update.
