Welcome Debs. There really is very little in Geelong for camping. They are not GV friendly at all. The showgrounds are the only ones of any significance.
There's nothing around the Peninsula at all except caravan parks.
The twin servos on the new bypass do allow overnight out the back and St Helens boat ramp has had a few sneak in and stay the night. There are toilets and showers there.
