I'm looking for some suggestions on how to listen to music while camped.
I don't want anything that draws power from the chassis or house batteries. ie it has to have it's own rechargeable battery.
I want to load my own music on to it. ie is not a radio.
We just like to sit and read at night with music playing. No TV. (We have a TV but don't use it).
We don't want to use ear pieces.
What are good suggestions? Thanks.

Hello bgt,
I think a portable speaker with an SD card would suit
You are going to have to copy & paste link, I can't make it clickable

G'day bgt,
I have all my music on my iPhone and listen via Bluetooth on a portable rechargeable speaker.
I also have 'Spotify' app on the phone set to play music I like. I only have the free part of it though and put up with a few adds here and there.
Also and as well even I have the 'Shazam' app that I can click on in front of a speaker anywhere an it tells me the name of the song playing, then I download it to my phone music collection.
That all said, I listen to talk back radio a lot. Mmmm, does that make me old

Hi Doug. I have the same as you. spotify app on my iPhone, megaboom speaker and I know you hate the word work so lets say when Im on duty, I have an aux cable I plug into the dozer. Makes the day go a bit faster. A lot of places I wor, I mean dig holes or push trees there is no service so I have a lot of songs on iTunes. Whenever we have family bbqs everyone brings their megaboom and my son has an app on his phone that lets him Bluetooth to all of them and we can let our hair down in style!!! Regards Pete.

I know you said you didn't want a radio, but just look at what I use for bicycletouring, It Is a Digitech Rechargeable am/fm radio, that takes a usb stick, is also an MP3 player, so you can load music to it, as well to the stick. I use it to load Audio books, and I get about 4 hours out of a charge. It has similar quality sound to the Iphones, deep bass. It's ID no is AR1721. It cost about $50. You can get it from Jacar.
