Hi All, Just wondering about Dometics new dust reduction system. Looks great. Has anyone installed one yet and if so what are the results. Have had our fair share of dust in the past and heading for the tip next winter.

Hi Gccandy,
First up welcome to the forum.
You sparked my interest with a method to reduce dust so I googled the unit.
It appears to be just a large filtered vent that fits on the top of the caravan or even a motor home or wizzbanger.
I have had no experience with one of these but any vent in the top of a van will help to reduce dust depending on the situation at hand.
The filter is a bonus.
Here is the link to the unit for other interested members.
Well, that last reply is helpful........................................not!
cheers Ian

Looking at the picture of the air filter. It does not have many pleats. As best as I can tell it looks more like a spray booth filter, simply changing air direction to remove particles.
If you are going to the trouble of installing ventilation I would want H14 HEPA (I've put H14 in our vp600 vacuum). You could build a powered HEPA setup that would turn on when moving & have less sticking out of the roof.

Probably best to look at the Carafan (https://carafan.com.au/sahara), at least you know that it will work. Forget what the other knuckleheads think. Obviously they have no idea what your talking about. What Dust. Bull Dust.

Hi Gcandy,
Welcome to GN. Yes I had the Dometic dust reduction installed to my van in April. Did a trip in June, Wentworth to Renmark stopping Lake Victoria dusty dirt road through the Flinders and up the Oodnadatta track. No dust inside van I was very happy with it.
