Just wonderful, 10 in the morning and 36 degrees and aiming for 41. Not as bad as it sounds, virtually no humidity and I had a wonderful walk earlier alongside the Todd amongst all the gums

Don't forget to drive the 80 odd km out through the East MacDonalds to Ross River Homestead. Great campground. Lee & Graeme will look after you. Love Alice Springs
Rather be in Alice than craphole Bali any day. Regards Pete

Bru,
I recall being at Glen Helen Station at 9am & similar to you, the temp was just on the old "ton" - 100 degrees, in those days (1973). I felt fine.
However after 32 years in Townsville, I've got used to a little more humidity in summer & while being a long way from family, this city has all we need.

Hi Warren . You were there in 1973 , the B52's may have still been landing there with big bombs on board then ? Carn't remember when I used to see them landing there , somewhere around then , Alice Springs used to look a lot like a cowboy town out of the Wild West .
