2 months into it and still struggling to find 'that' van.
If you want something with decent self-sufficiency, a smidge of luxury for long-term travelling, and decent weights the choices seem to come down to reasonable price (relatively) and shoddy quality, or nice quality and obscene price. As I can't live with shoddy, it looks like auction a kidney time.
My current favourite, about $125k ish with lithium, yikes -
We have come across a couple of these lately in our travels rhinomaxcampers.com.au/ Apparently made in Qld which has now adopted all the new Australian Consumer Law, so that on it's own can only be a good thing. The owners of the ones we've seen a very happy and one couple living in one permanently so no problems even minor ones. Don't know their pricing but easy enough to find out. I strongly suggest you contact Colin Young at Caravan Council of Australia and sound out whichever van you choose www.caravancouncil.com.au/

Cheers Possum
Yes the Rhinomax has crossed my path. Off the top of my head, hardcore off road so both obscenely heavy and expensive. Down on pretty well expected inclusions at the price point too iirc. Nevertheless quite nice, and obviously quality so still in the mix if I get a sudden outback fetish.
Had email with Colin yesterday actually, just tweaking his pre-delivery checklist for him LOL.
