Hi,
I have a Vitrifrigo C130 litre fridge with a separate compressor installed in my campervan and I am considering relocating it. I was wondering if any has, or knows where to find, an installation manual for one?
I have a Vitrifrigo with remote compressor and a DIY deep freeze with remote compressor.
But I have not got a manual.
All fridge compressors should be remote. :)
Is there a specific question I might be able to help with.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peter,
I'm looking to relocate my C130L and as it has the remote compressor I just want to see how it goes together so that I can safely, IE without damaging it, move it. I never installed it so I do not know what's involved as far as the connections and how amenable they might be to being moved.
Does disconnecting it require control (capture) of the gas and therefore a proper technician required so that is gets re-gassed afterwards?
I think it depends :)
Both of mine have quick connect gas lines that self seal when disconnected and can be reconnected again without loss of gas.
The QCs are in the gas lines, not at either end. The compressor and the evaporator came as separate parts, both pre-gassed.
I can't confirm that all remote compressors are like that, nor can I confirm that they will do as they are supposed to do.
Technically it is not permitted to vent gas to the atmosphere, but if it did accidentally leak, it is easily recharged.
Cheers,
Peter

Same for me on a yacht I built years ago, however I clearly recall the quick disconnects ARE NOT REUSABLE in the simple sense,,, ie you connect once and if you break the line it creates problems and needs to be properly re-gassed.
I think it had about 200g of gas only for normal installation PLUS the variable length of flex hose you have.

Well thanks Peter and Baz.
I was hoping for a quick connect release system. As Peter had said.
But as it appears, from what Baz says, that it might just be a quick connect and the seal will be broken I will hunt down a technician and see what they charge for their attendance.
There goes my plans for a quick an easy relocation as I will l probably need the person to attend twice. :/
I will post back here when I know more and that way if anyone is searching in the future there will be an answer that can be easier to find for them.
Thanks again,
TeeKay
