Hi Mr M.
Any idea as to the reason. May be it is that they are struggling financially or is the Virus.
One wonders how many more may or could follow same path.
Boy!!! What I world we now have to live in.
You know the old saying.... *u#*k Mr. Chinaman.

same at Mornington Peninsula.
The local councils would much prefer to put themselves and their insurance companies before public safety and convenience.
What a perfect place to spread out a few itinerant nomads, safely, and allow them to spend a few $ in the area.
There is even an existing toilet cleaning contract in place.
But no, too difficult, close it down

I read in a UK paper they are closing all tourist sites over there. Hope it doesn't spread to here.

I think you'll find they are closing things down to protect their community which usually has only 1 doctor (if lucky) and chemist which is barely sufficient for the towns' need. Most of these towns have also suffered raids by busloads of people who empty the supermarket shelves and leave nothing for the locals so the last thing they need is an influx of old people who will most probably overload their limited medical facilities.
Good Luck.

Closing caravan parks is now up to each state to decide. I assume if they close campgrounds they will close Nat parks. Let's hope it a 4-6 weeks only.

Its starting. Those that go to work & come home to sleep will be OK. "They" will get rid of the rest of us.

The sooner people stop moving about, the sooner we will be all over this.
Just had a report from Whitsunday Online that the Conway Beach CV Park is closed apparently due to limited travel rules.
A very responsible decision and I hope that the closure can be over for them as soon as possible.
FYI Conway Beach is in NQ south of Airlie Beach.

It is also reported from the same source that Lake Proserpine is closed to camping as well.

Two days ago Meredith Park was closed down. So we towed to Simpson rec ground. Three hours later that was closed. We sold our house in Feb and are about to build another. So onto our block of land we went prior to building permit obtained.
Tough titties for the local council, we are not moving.
