Today marks 6 years of living the dream and lifestyle traveling this great country that we call home.
Having sold up the family residence in the Nations Capital back in 2014 we set out for Mildura being our first farm sit one of many house and farm sits completed over the years.
We new from the start that we needed to be busy and occupied so the house/farm sitting gigs were instrumental to the success of the life style venture.
As well, from a financial point of view the savings on diesel and accommodation are significant.
Mind you we have met plenty of Nomads out there with 10/20 years being full time on the road.
Our plan was to spend 5 years before retiring back to bricks and mortar.
However we were both on the same page, enjoyed the lifestyle and meeting beautiful people.
The plan and bookings were in place until the later part of this year.
Unfortunately along came Corona Virus and it is all over red rover.
We are parked up at our base camp in Central West of NSW (family) that we need to care for in these current lock down conditions.
For those would be or want to be "Full Time Nomads" it is all about the life style and in our situation the ability to relate to people.
AND
****Having spent years in the planning and making sure we had the reliable tow vehicle and van to be our home we failed badly in the most important area:
HEALTH
We think we are invincible and unfortunately we are not. From a bloke who was on NO medication could get on push bike and ride80/90klms life has some what changed.
Glad that you got to see and do all that you have.
Perhaps the old adage of, 'do it while you can', may have been proven again.
All the best for the future.
Joe.
The pics are special. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your health issues but you will very much appreciate that you got out there. Most people don't even have a go.

Thanks for the best wishes.
Really appreciate your thoughts and concerns.
The message was really NOT about me but providing true life experiences and that we never really know what is around the corner particularly in our later years.
I am managing several issues at the moment but the one that caught me out is heart disease.
I am not alone and the biggest health issue in Australia.
AND
When these unexpected health issues come up so does the expenses.
Thankfully we have private health cover at this date.
For those people who enjoyed the pics and JayDee(welcome)
If you go to the photo section of this forum you will find pics from all over this great country that I have put up as well a contributor to the Forum since around 2010.
*****For those starting their life time adventure I wish you good luck.
The Corona Virus will and has changed the world. The possibility of Australians spending time at home and exploring their own backyard will bring benefits to the RV Industry but the ability to manage large numbers particularly in school holidays will cause issues.
The Climate and in particular the heat/ bush fires in last few summers has been concerning.
Being out there in it is not fun and thank fully we were saved with our farm/house sitting gigs.
Cheers

Sorry to hear about your probs John. Funny about that same thing happened to me. no meds, felt quite fit, went to doctor complaining of larangitis (spelling) I had had a heart attack. Still don't know how or where. Did lots of work recovering, just about done and ready to go, along came the bushfires. Heart Problems? Stay away from the smoke. OK waited that one out. then along came coronavirus. Elderly and vunerable. Didn't know that. I didn't feel like it.
In lock Down. hmmmmm. Who knows when I will get out, if ever.
