Love it JayDee. I wonder if there is a way of getting just the song only and put it on my iPhone music list??
I have about 6 different versions of 'Sounds Of Silence' and as much as I like the original, probably my favourite, although I hated it when I first heard it, grew on rapidly, is the version from 'Disturbed' I find it very powerful indeed. I have a couple from the ABC program 'RockWiz' that are great too.
Gee John, you just bought back memories of a great movie. 'The Graduate'.
Keep Safe out there.

Dougwe, The easiest and quickest way I've found is to copy the link for the video you want. In this case, www.youtube.com/watch
hit enter and follow the prompts. You can either download as an mp4 or mp3 and choose what resolution etc you'd prefer
Or, in this case, just click the second link above and voila.
Edit to add. yes, doing so is probably illegal. Everyone is free to make their own personal call on ethics. in the case of this song, probably not. Privately recorded and distributed to all and sundry on YouTube.

Because l'm a headbanger l love it when heavy metal bands do songs that get some airplay. Disturbed's version shows how well he can sing in a mainstream style.

There is also another version of the Sound of Silence. It was performed by a member of the Western Australian Government at the last sitting before going on the Christmas Break.

Doug,
I also was in virtually tears. I guess that I have played this version about 6 times. Plus he does seem to have a good singing voice which helps make it even more enjoyable.
This is another version of the Co-vid 19 set to the musical of the
Sound of Silence, which the original was a classic. Original song "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel.
Enjoy this classic
