I did a search for the caravan park at Golden Beach (Onslow St not the military jetty park) but only saw a post from 2012. Has anyone stayed in the Golden Beach Caravan Park lately and, if so, how was your stay please? PM me if you prefer.
Many thanks.

Haven't stayed myself but recent reviews on Wiki Camps aren't good, expensive, small tight sites, and unhelpful and gruff management.
Mate, ide suggest that you download Wikicamps, its only $10.00, great value
Stay safe, and get your Premier to open the border!

Thanks Hendo. We aren't from QLD and also wish the border would open. Just planning for when it finally does. NSW has been easy but predominantly QLDers have already booked most of the places for the period we want to stay. Not keen on changing sites every 5 or so days!!!!

G'day Robyn,
Partner, Vicki and I stayed there late last year. Nice van park with clean facilities but quite cramped and quite difficult getting van in and out of site but worth the effort.
Cheers,
Roy.

Thanks Roy,
I rang them in the end and Jenna told me she could not in all conscience accept us because of our van length. Appreciate their honesty. We are going further north to Noosa where we know we can fit and there are sites available.

The council park at Mudjimba (between Caloundra and Noosa) is a great park with good sized sites.

We prefer the Military jetty park if you can choose your site away from the main road. PM me & I'll share the good site numbers.
Didn't like the Golden beach one though. Too far down into sandfly & mosquito area with small difficult sites & semi permanents. Close to a great beach on the passage though.
We like the Military jetty one because of the ease of launching the kayak & paddling across to Bribie as well as the good range of local fishing. SWMBO loves the nearness, walking distance, to coffee shops, weekend markets & a range of shopping.
We don't like Mudjimba but Dickie Beach is OK, fantastic beach, but no good for my sort of kayaking.
Malooloobah is OK but much less so since they got rid of the fantastic sites on the North of the restaurants. Bloody car park now!!! If you can get in early Cotton tree ocean front sites are to die for.
Won't tell you where our Sunny Coast favourite is though. We think that it is one of the best in Au (& we've seen lots) ... except for the regulars (Oops almost said Mexicans) who book out the best sites year on year, during the good weather.
There are just so many very good ones to choose from on The Sunny Coast.
Thankfully we all have differing tastes.

Nevd, FYI
I live in Mudjimba, the C.P has a near new section, very nice grass sites & a brand new ablution block, couple of good coffee shops, Fush & Chups, restaurant, 3 K down the road at Pacific Paradise is a Coles, kebab shop, Indian restaurant, 2 Thai restaurants, & An Italian restaurant, [No KFC or Maccas] great patrolled beach just across the road, [Dogs on leash] & Maroochy just 10 mins down the road.
Only one thing ! it's bloody freezing here at the moment, 21-23c horrible.
Cheers

I always stay at the Big4 Caloundra, frankly I find it to be one best parks that I have stayed in for the following reasons, position, cleanliness, site size and is right in town.
it was fully renovated and renewed a short time ago so is very modern but is Extremely popular so needs to be booked well in advance.

I suppose that I am somewhat unreasonably biased against Mudjimba.
We lived up there for a few years around 1981 living at Buderim & then Buddina Beach.
At the time land at Mudjimba was selling very cheaply, perhaps because you were required to build the land up a meter or so, presumably above flood/water level before building. There was a constant procession of gravel trucks into the development doing the deed. Enough to put you off the area.
Perhaps it was only one development that had the restriction, but it was enough to put us off for life. In recent drives thru there I can't see signs of the build up that was all the talk at the time. In fact it seems like a nice out of the way part of the Sunny Coast & a few of my mates, particularly one with a pet dog like to stay there.
Edit .. PS. Yes the relatively recent upgrade of the old & rather daggy Millitary Jetty CP at Caloundra has made it into one of the best IMHO. It has a rather 'pretty' pool for those who are into that sort of thing. The best part is that the semi permanents are off in their own gated community. Good for both lots.
