Hi all, we are planning on heading to Winton and Longreach at the end of June, which parks are the best to stat at. We want to see the dinosaur museums etc, so any info would be good...

G'day Branchie, I stayed at Ilfracombe CVP and drove into Longreach from there. It's a short 30km approx trip for memory. A nice little park.
I got to Winton but got a phone call and had to make a dash to Townsville. Did that trip in the one day.
We camped at Bladensburg NP camp ground in 2018, there was a toilet block which was ok. From memory about 15 to 20 km south of Winton, turn off along the Jundah Rd a bit after an unofficial area where was saw some caravans setup for a night or so. The camping in the park was nice. The river is right next to the camping.

Regarding your first photo.
It must be a popular sign.
I took that very same photo last winter

When going through Winton last year we stayed behind the Winton Hotel for $10 for a spot and the use of their toilets, showers and laundry but no power. I know the council closed this after we were there and don't know if it is still that way. We also stayed behind the North Gregory Hotel on a previous trip. There's a free camp out on the road to Lark Quarry that was popular too last year. We stayed a couple nights in Winton and one at the free camp. Quite a few people also were staying at the Showgrounds at Winton which could be another possibility for you particularly if the CV parks are booked out. With the restrictions from the Corona Virus there are new rules etc. when it comes to ablution blocks in CV parks. At Longreach we stayed at the CV park away from the main highway, don't know the name of it off hand, but it was chock a block when we stayed there on both trips. There is another CV park closer to the highway. There is also a large donation camp area just out of town. You're supposed to pay a few dollars a night at the Tourist Information Centre. There is a toilet out there, no power or showers but it's by the river and many stayed there when we were there on both trips. Plenty to see around both places. At Winton, we went on a guided tour to Larks Quarry to see the Dinosaur Stampede. They also showed us around some of the Jump Up areas and the stations. At the Dinosaur museum there are 3 tours at different times so get there early enough to get the 3 tours in. We didn't, hence the night at the free camp to do the third tour we missed out on the previous afternoon. The road to the Dinosaur Museum is good bitumen. You will enjoy the area. Plenty to see and do. Cheers.
