Try Hot Dollar shops or similar. We were able to pick up a pack of three, fine mesh strainers, consisting of three different sizes. The smallest size fits both the sink and Shower recesses. We got ours at Seven Hills in Sydney.
PS All S/S and $2.00 per pack. Got two sets.

Heat it up in the oven or on a toaster but NOT on a gas flame directly as you might melt it. The alloy will soften. Reform & cut to size with scissors. Over a few weeks the alloy will age harden back to what it was at room temperature. Not that that alloy was too hard to start with.

They are called a 'Boston' sink basket, available at any hardware shop for around $15 - $20.
Use paper towels to wipe the muck off first then wash, no blocked hoses.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I should have mentioned that my van sink outlet is 28mm diameter. The ones i have seen are for standard kitchen sinks. So if anyone can assist with a 28mm sink strainer please post.

I picked one up in Bunnings, smaller than standard diameter (can't remember the size, I'm not near the van unfortunately), but it fits the small sink outlet fine. Couple of dollars.

G'day Umpie, I have the plug you talk about but at all times have and still do use a plastic basin sitting in the sink then just empty that on a tree or somewhere safe. Has worked for me now for 6 years being full time on the road. Saves all that yucky water going down the teepee pipes.
Others have given help as to where you might get the plug so will leave that at that.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

We simply cut a circle of foam. Push it into the plug hole as soon as you pull the plug. Not 100% but it works good enough for us.

Some copper or stainless wire bent around in circles ? Or normal Sink plug with 6mm holes drilled in it ? Dont mix them up with other plugs though
