Agreed Mike.....timeless music from many bands,including Fleetwood Mac,Dire Straits,Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Jimmy Hendrix,Pink Floyd,Urian Heep,Bob Dylan,Lynyrd Skynard,Rolling Stones,Beatles,Deep Purple, Eagles,The Doors,Jethro Tull,Steely Dan,Talking Heads,Roxy Music,Styx and a myriad others.Each song had a meaning,unlike the noise that today's youngsters call 'music'.However,I absolutely detest anything by Queen.Cheers

I bought a lot of CDs when they first came out, Dire Straits Love Over Gold being the first non classical album available, as I bought the first CD player available in Australia, $1200 in the early 80s.
A few years later bought the first car CD player available & played a lot of Fleetwood Mac in the car. The sound was great on the car hi-fi, KEF GT200 with 2 subwoofer boxes in the boot & a couple of amplifiers for front & rear under the front seats & the most expensive Van Den Hull cables money could buy running around the car.
Need to listen a bit more to those albums!

A sad loss and a special era indeed. Dire Straits and Eagles probably top the faves list on our journeys.

Yes it is a sad day. He brought a lot of pleasure into the world.
Over the years I have been trying to go to the concerts of these 'greats' as they come to Australia.
They won't be around forever.
Started out listening to them in the car on an old 8 track machine. Now, that's going back a few years.
Hmm, guess I should count myself lucky.... I can still remember that. :)
Joe.
