I am in my late seventies, but this Winter in East Gippsland would have one of nicest we can recall.
A few cold frosty nights, some rain, mainly at nights, but lots of lovely sunny cold days.
Can't wait for the snow to melt, and to get up to the High Country, all depends on the virus. Stay safe.

Here in Queensland, we think hell has frozen over if it gets down to 5 degrees. I own 2 sets of thermal underwear - used when we went to Tassie in Spring. In winter I go to work at 8 am with a singlet & long sleeve shirt and complain about the cold. My caravanning trips are opposite to Gippsland residents - I plan to travel south in the summer. Bugger it's a tough life!

I'm 50km south of Mildura (Victoria) camped on the Vic bank of the Murray River; today is forecast to be 18C and Sat/Sun both 21C - I can handle winter's at these temperatures :)
PT: I'm looking forward to getting back into the High Country too.

Here on the Gippsland Lakes the winter weather has been glassy calm for much of the time. But we chose to camp in the High Country a month ago. The minus 4 at 9am each day was enough to freeze the diesel heater fuel and kill a water pump, although the sunny and silent days were wonderful. Saw Just two other campers over the six days.

Here in North East VIC about 50 mins south of Albury/Wodonga we get 0c to -4c most days as we speak with today being -2c. The days have been sunny most days for the last couple of weeks with low teens and the best bit, very little to no wind. I can put up with all that, especially the no wind bit.
I just hope it not the calm before the storm.
Keep Safe out there everyone.

In our early 70's, I have been a keen weather observer all my life and been out and about in tents, swags etc. 'til 2005 when we bought our Mobile Condominium. This winter has been the most "normal" we have had for many years, mainly 'çoz the last 6 we have been out and about. Our vegetable garden beds are the most productive ever due to travel restrictions as well. Restrictions have been the best for us as we reckon a successful day is one when the front gate does not get opened. Of course we miss our travels and wanderings.
Cheers - Ian

Yep, coldest for a fair while (Origin gas bill says so too) here in Sunny Downtown Lavington, same in Howlong according to friends. The past week has been brilliant during the afternoons though, so from -2 up to 19 one day, average 16.
Weber babyQ is doing well, snags, lamb chops, roast vegies etc.

Weather is nice enough, with some recent rain, but out in the wind seems very chilly
I did read many years ago, that the older we get, the worst the weather feels
From memory someone said, ask an old person in winter what was the coldest winter, and they will say this year
As I am only mid seventies, (and not old yet), I can still remember that my coldest winter was 1962

So pleased that Sydney and South Coast are getting another drenching, do hope the floods are not as bad this week. Have not heard much from that arrogant doom and gloom man lately. A " sorry about it will never ever ever rain again" would be appropriate from him.

Have had about a month of sunny days, no rain, outside temp about 12 but inside, with all the North-facing windows, temp. has been about 18 -20. The South and East of Tassie copped snow recently with the cold icy blast that came up from Antarctica but by the time I emerge from the covers - about 10 am - the overnight frost has melted. Rug up well and do very short stroll from home some days but, hey, let's not overdo it ! Would not want to be anywhere else in the world. Cheers, .... Val
