Hi all just clicked over 101,000 km and all good then engine light comes on and loses power for a short time .I contacted Izuzu and they did scan of computer and said low boost on turbo so new turbo. This model was the first with the dpf filter .I have had since new towing up to 3 ton regularly and oil changed every 10,000 km and never missed a service and don't thrash it, just wondering has anyone had a similar problem with the lightweight ute turbos with the dpf filter
Cheers John

G'day John,
Have you posed the same question on the IsuzuOz Forum? You may get a wider number of answers - like this forum, I've found the members quite helpful.
My car is relatively new with 20,000kms on the clock.

Low boost pressure as a fault code is not necesarily a faulty turbo. I would be checking dpf filter or exhaust isnt partly blocked. Rubber intake hoses internaly delaminated & collapsing & restricting air flow to turbo. To many mechanics look for fault codes & dont investigate causes, & just replace expensive parts in the hope of fixing the fault at your expense.

My first problem, in my 4wd started at 150k km, which ultimately, was the very start of a lot of other problems, leading my vehicle becoming the Lemon that it is now. But the first problem, was limp mode. Their was a code, which all it said was Check Engine, well check engine cost me nearly 2000 dollars. But ultimately, it was a very obscure part in the turbo - the turbo solenoid. Prior to finding this over 4 months, no previous mechanic could fix it. Since that incident, have spend nearly $7000 on problems, of the engine, and auto gearbox. I should have sold it, or just scrapped it, but it was a $65000 car. Selling it, would have meant, some poorer soul then me, would have been ripped off, and I just can't justify that. Will be shelved soon and sold as parts, as am looking for an older car, with less or no electronics and computer.

Maybe short trips and EGR ? I have found water injection keeps inside of engine very clean . I fitted a Devels Own kit. I fill bottle which is an old washer bottle as I imported kit from US . I can used a water container here . I mix Atleast 20% ethanol . 250lb pressure very fine water jet . Comes on from 8lb boost and 3/4 throttle . So no chance of hydro lock up !! Its not fitted to Isuzu but diesel . www.alcohol-injection.com/en/2-water-injection-kits Some times its pays to seek advice from private Companies away from dealers as the result of the fault will be the SAME !!
