I have just noticed that my computer is telling me that the Grey Nomads sight is not a secure sight. Is anyone else getting the same advice ?

That means all the stupid or "tired and emotional" posts which appear to be from my account I can claim were posted by someone else! :)
I'm no expert on internet protocols but I think it simply means your browser (for some reason) was not able to make a secure connection (https) to this site. This means some evil hacker in China could intercept your data and password to/from this site.
If this were my bank or e-mail I'd be worried but I don't think the Chinese are terribly interested in my fridge power consumption issues :)
*BUT* don't use the password you have for this site on "serious" sites. I have three main passwords: low, medium and high - bank and e-mail use high, sites such as this use low and most other stuff uses medium.

I am no computer wizz either but I understand it is to do with paying for the site rights. They are tardy coffing up. Shows 'Not secure' as I type this.
If it get worse then it will give you more warnings and an option to go away or proceed with further more warnings. I have done that on another old forum that the sponsor has abandoned but it still limps along, for more than a year now. The end of the world did not come either Nor did I find any chatting in an odd language !!

Apologies also for not getting back to you about the security of the site. The forum IT people said that it was because this site does not use "https" in the URL address after you have logged in. They said the forum secure, but I guess you will have to decide for yourself whether you trust it without the "https" prefix.

I use Safari with DuckDuckGo as my search engine. NOT Google etc. It shows that the site is tracked by Facebook and Sovrn Holdings.

Opera/Chrome warns that "attackers might be able to see the images you're looking at on this site and trick you by modifying them".
Even though you have SSL installed on for your domain, you can see this error and this simply means your website contains "http" links on its pages. You can even see this error on some pages instead of every page. It can be an image that's linked to an external url starts with "http" instead of "https".

Ghostery blocks Viglink (which is owned by Sovrn Holdings) I think because it's a much broader tracker which sells its data to all comers.
