Are you looking at towing a caravan? I can tell you that I use the reversing camera (drivers aid) in the ute., mainly in shopping center car parks etc., but I hardly ever use the camera in the caravan. I advise those who ask, to concentrate on getting good extension mirrors, rather than a reversing camera.

Do you mean one for a caravan or for a vehicle? For our caravan we have a dual camera with an over the mirror monitor from Safety Dave. This gives us a reversing camera which we use a bit, but my favourite part is the always on rear view camera which shows behind the van and down the road, in our case with the over the mirror monitor using it feels exactly like looking in the rear view mirror does when the van isn't attached. You need different cameras for each function as they must be different angle lens otherwise one of them must be distorted.

If parking in 45 - 60° spots in country towns a wide angle camera or one pointing a bit back down the road makes life easier.

We have a small motorhome. I really want to see behind when travelling as well as reversing. Already have good side mirrors. Thanks for all the replies.

Good rear view cameras available from Safety Dave. Acts as your rear vision mirror, you can see everything behind you, including any tailgaters who can't be seen in your mirrors. Wouldn't be without mine.

Welcome to the gang VM, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I have a genuine Holden reversing camera on my Collie and love it.
I have Safety Dave and fittings rear camera on the rear of the aluminium teepee and also love it.
Good wide, clear vision on both. I wouldn't leave home without either of them.
Keep Safe out there.
