Hi Barry....at the top of your screen,on the right hand side, you will see your user name.Click on that.On the screen that appears,on left side you will see "Private messages". Select "new message" and another screen will appear, asking for name of intended recipient, and a section for the topic you wish to discuss.Write message, send, and jobs done. When you get a response,a notification will appear under your user name.Hope this helps, but please feel free to ask for any more help you may need. But I should warn you that certain people seem to get cranky about others using the PM service to communicate..Cheers

Hi Barry
To add to the good advice given already. If you see a post that you want to contact the poster about, you can click on that persons name on the top LH side of the post and it will go to their forum home page. Just select PRIVATE MESSAGING - SEND MESSAGE, on the left and the window to type into will be opened for you, and that persons address is already in the box at the top. When finished just click on SEND MESSAGE at the bottom.
If a person sends you a PM you should get an email to tell you that. If you do not get an email then your settings can be changed to do that. (I believe the default is to send). But it will always show up at the top RH corner under your name.
Easy enough after the first time done, even for computer haters like me.
Good luck Jaahn
PS Generally I do not use the whiteboard as it does not send me a message so I may not notice that.

Hi BAZZA44 the only thing I would add is that you actually need to log on to get the PM notification - I have been guilty in the past of checking out the site without logging on so I missed getting the notification for a few days.
Can anyone explain how to use PM
1. How to send
2. How do I know if I have been sent a PM
3. How to answer
Can not find an explaination in rules
