Hi all. As title suggest, I am wondering if anyone has lately traveled on the road from Mt Coolon to the Burdekin Falls Dam and on to Ravenswood. I do have a 4WD and a full off-road
16' caravan. And if so any suggestion for camping spots on the way as I had heard that the camp ground at the Burdekin is closed.

good gravel road 20 years ago. no problems. camp at old bowen river pub. now open again i believe.
dont swim in the river. bities. or there used to be.
spend a day or two there and get onto the history from way back.
the pack horse mail man went through here in the mid 1800s, bowen to adelaide. can you imagine that.

Road is in good condition 4 weeks ago, some bulldust between Belyando Crossing and Mount Coolum if you are planning to travel from the west. Campground is open and an oasis, green grass and shade. Road below the dam is open, only closes when dam is overflowing.
