Hi Folks just paid the van insurance with RACV, $664.64. Was wondering how that compared with other states????

Depends on where you live. How your van is stored and if you have layup cover as well.
In our case The van is housed in brick cave with heavy machinery blocking the door. then we have diesel who likes to taste new blood, the gates, the other cars in the driveway.plus heavy tube metal. plus Old. Don't mix with Old. Then we have layup cover for five months.
We pay $489.00 for $54000 cover total, with multi polices discounted. 48years membership.

We have multiple insurance policy with our state motoring club for a number of years, very happy in the scheme of things.
Our caravan is insured for $40 000 and figure in the ball park of yours, our discounts is on the bundle.
You can have number of people in group and we all structure our insurance policy different, me I like to pay them as little as I can, insure for amount, enough to get you going again.

The van is insured for $50k also included is a $5k for contents.Have been with RACV for 51yrs. The house and contents and the tug are also with them. The cost without all the so called discounts would be horrendous. I say "so called" because I can't help wondering if the discounts are there to be taken off? Maybe i'm just a cynical old bloke but I've seen a lot of tricks in my time!!!! I will say however, that the few times I have had to use their roadside assist, ( been bogged a couple of times) the service has been very good.

Yes our RACQ Club has been good when needed also.

We have all of our insurance policies with QBE. They have been fantastic in any issues we have had. We have Been with QBE for around 20 years.
Now the Van.
It is a Coromol Princeston 22 ft. insured for around $40.000
Annual Fee $ 374.
Excess $200. Unfortunately I could not negotiate a nil excess.
Here is the RUB.
As we very rarely travel during the summer months QBE have a system if the van is stored at home during the summer we then benefit by a reduced fee in the premium price.
Also have received 3x $50 vouchers - gift cards for the three vehicles insured with QBE.
We have no association with QBE except that they are our preferred insurance Company.
Also... we also have the ultimate platinum road assist with RACQ.
Hope my comments help others. Why not give QBE A CALL. That is how we got the great benefits.
