Innes National Park is nice. Shell Beach is stunning, the water & sand contrast.
Watch out for the kangaroo ticks down there. They will carry you off!

Plenty of camps on York peninsula 10.00 a night or 50.00 a week but will be busy so get in early
A good spot to leave your van is parham beach near Dublin which is free camp but very safe and the boat ramp at St Kilda which has security cameras dumppoint and water as does parham beach
The boat ramp is ten dollars a night and we use both of these when we go to Adelaide and would have no problems leaving the van for a couple of days as many do the same thing
Cheers

Hi Harry Butler.
Enjoy Yorke Peninsula, allow a bit of time to enjoy.
Marion Bay was a great base to allow us to explore.
Innes National Park is a real jewel.
Maitland Showground worked OK.
There is a couple of freebies but we never used them and there is camping grounds which you will need to pre organise possibly at a Tourist infor centre. I did ring from Brisbane and spoke at lenght with Port Pirie info centre when I was planning our adventure to that neck of the woods, very helpful.
Harry theres a good free camp right in the Moonta township. Has water but no other facilities. Only a very short walk to pubs, shops, healthcare and public toilets etc. only a small donation required. Shaded in parts. Or CPs at Moonta Bay and nearby Port Hughes. Or try Wallaroo. Plenty of other spots all over the peninsula. You should visit the Harry Butler Red Devil aircraft memorial in Minlaton. Right opposite CP. Coming into summer good crabbing and fishing. Enjoy a great part of SA. Posted by a local from the area.

Closer to Adelaide I agree Parham is a spot to park the van and go to Adelaide. Bit hot in summer. Other RV parks at Mallala and on the town sports grounds at Hamley Bridge, Owen and Balaklava which also has a neat park. This is only an hours drive from all of Adelaide metro, the Barossa and Clare wine regions. Or try Port Wakefield. Nice park. Shaded but looking a bit worn out right now. Only an hour down Highway One via freeway s to Adelaide. Still worth considering because it also gives easy access to Yorke Peninsula and all the other regions including Flinders Ranges. Be aware SA can get very hot in summer if going bush. Easy drive.
