Hi, I have just got my new Isuzu Dmax My21 a few weeks ago and am waiting for my new van due about feb/ march. If anyone is towing with the MY21 new series are you finding the mirrors are giving enough visibility or have you needed to purchase additional ones. Cheers and appreciate any feedback re. this post. Hi Jim....It is most unlikely that you will be able to cover the legally required field of vision, using standard mirrors.Cheers

Hi RAINBIRD,
Your vehicle is of similar dimensions as my MY19, you will need external mirrors to legally tow.
As to what brand, I'm not going to commit. There are discussions in this forum, also the OzIsuzu forum that bash this subject to pieces.
Clearviews, chaps? Have you seen the prices of the new next-gen ones (nearly $1500)! MSA are looking much better now.

I'm not really into the super expensive mirrors. Milenco do me, but on a recent trip a guy in a brand new Cruiser was raving on about how good his MSA ones were compared to Clearviews.
Perhaps those with first hand experience may wish to comment.

I'm a Clearview fan and have been for six years. Not once have I regreted buying them. I would never leave home without them. Um, I did leave home but took them with me.
That said, I reckon there would be no reason why the MSA's wouldn't be as good. The only thing could fail is maybe the hinge system.

I just had this mob pop up in my in box advertising towing mirrors. I don't know anything about them or heard anything about them sorry.

I have Ocam mirrors on my dmax. More reasonably priced, they do the job theyre supposed to do, do it well with no problems.

The fairly new MSA ones are a lot more compact than the original Clearview, in fact a smidge less wide than OEM for Landcruiser 200 series. So that was my buying choice easily made. I was just not comfortable with the extra width. Has Clearview came out with their new ones early enough, who knows? Had clip ones with extra door support, but still had vibration and for whatever reason the double mirrors made it hard to back van into backyard for me.

I had Clearviews's on the Colorado when I had it and found them good, but the flat mirror noticably reduces the horizontal field of view. I preferred the original setup with the OEM mirror and the towing mirror side by side. Got a new Pajero coming and I'm going to give the Milenco Aero mirrors a go.

I have the Millenco Grand Aero on the Ranger and have found them pretty good. Probably the best of the clip on mirrors I have tried and I have had a few.
They have won a few comparison tests in various magazines and I have had little trouble with them.
I don't believe they are as good as the Clearview which are probably the ultimate, but are very cheap by comparison and are quickly removed. I have a problem with a narrow garage entry which having the large Clearviews would be a problem.
