Had the little fold up boat trailer booked in to get the Blue slip paper to go ahead and get registered for the first ever rego here in NSW. They told me before hand it takes 20 minutes with the paper work filled out.
All good looks brand new. Yep never used. Brought it in 2007. 20 minutes later he informs me, that his system can't download the VIN number off the register. So he notes this on the blue slip and said Services NSW can do this.
So off we go to services. Que up 15 for minutes and get our ticket, sit and wait, wait, 30 minutes past and after another 31 minutes we get called.
Out comes the lady with shiny new number plate onto the counter, continues with the paper work. Oh something wrong with the Data system. She told us that once the VIN number is allocated it can't be reused. Soooo she calls them up. Hullo we are unavailable right now, our office is unattened. Please leave a message and we will get back to you shortly.
Please take a seat, we have to wait. We waited ,waited and got the S.......ts with waiting.
The nice lady calls again and got the same message. Sorry folks We will call you on this number next Week. They the Government is still on leave. Yer right.
We started our day at 8am and got home 5 hours later. Services NSW, What Service.
The Service centre we attended had 17 counter points, with 8 having staff in attendance.
Have you experienced same. And we have unemployment. Full and part time.
I forgot its Friday.

Our branch in Brookvale is in an industrial complex with next to no parking. Last time I went I parked on some grass in front of the office. I did over hear that they never saw someone do that.
We make sure we complain about parking everytime we go there.

Services NSW is a Joke - we go to the one at Liverpool in Sydney South West - Always wait minimum 30 minutes - they want everyone to transact all business on-line - Yet if you have a name of English origins (ie with an apostrophe ') their computers cannot handle it - so they omit the apostrophe - Then all licences confiscated as they are differing name to passport - this is real drama for gun licences - Police come and take guns, because firearms registry say licences cancelled - Arguments with someone wearing a Turban - Have all documents redone without apostrophe - then go to. Collect guns at Police stations with a specified appointment time - Police must now come and inspect gun safes again - whole process takes three weeks.

Howdy Old and Grey,
Sorry that you had that experience, it is all too common across the board. "Services - what ever State" they dare to call themselves.
WHAT service is rendered ??????
Same here in South Oz, then the clerks DARE to question the Official Data entered onto the Blue Slips/ Green slips by the Technical experts when they approve and certify the specifications of the vehicle !!!!!!!!!
South Oz even will not include the name of the vehicle, calling them "UNKNOWN Make" even for our Bush Tracker Caravan and the Mangrove Track boat trailer.

As they say, "your experience might vary"
Recent multiple transactions in Goulburn NSW and Berrie SA involving permits and new registrations were efficient, friendly and helpful.

Well day 2 with Service NSW,
After waiting all morning for that Phone call that didn't come. We got into the car and took another drive back to Macquarie shopping centre to see the lovely people.
The Queue out side Service NSW OMG. We asked to speak to the supervisor who dealt with us on Friday. Get inline like the rest of us came the replies from frustrated customers.
So the line moved forward ever so slow. 26 Minutes later we get a call from a PRIVATE number its Nar..... calling from Service NSW. We need A photo of the VIN plate. We gave you a Photo copy on Friday. No I don't have one. Anyway you need to send me one via email.
Better still, We are standing in the Queue in front of your shop for the last 26 minutes.
I will come out now and give you my email address. Put your hands up so I can See you. Hands us bit of paper with Kindergarten writing on it. Can you send it to me NOW. Yes I can.
Who has capital letters in email addresses Capital N........ . D.........@service.nsw.gov.au Failed to send.
Ask the Security guy how she spells her name. No No thats not right. So he allows us to go to the front desk. Hi there can you help us with the correct spelling of this ladies email address so we can send photos of our VIN plate to her, as SHE is waiting for them. Is this her writing. Yes. Here will print it for you. Thanks.
Great she finely got the email. Wait, we get an email back. I will forward the photo's on to the VIN UNIT. Go home and I will be in touch, when I here back from them.

I had a most satisfactory experience at Albury Branch of Service NSW this morning. D/Licence (HR)renewal in around 4 minutes from greeting at door to exit survey. Including " you have not changed much so no new photo required"

Hi
Well I have used Service NSW quite a few times over the recent years, I try to get the details correct before I go there and usually the service is OK and reasonable time wise. I use quite large city offices that have lots of counters. But the meet and greet persons help a bit usually.
I try to remember there are people behind the counter and just normal people so do not argue or get upset. Actually from the old days of the RTA to today Service NSW the service has improved greatly. The RTA in the good ol'days was sh*t and their system was always behind the times. Because the government of the day would not spend money to get it better. Just a taxing department really.
So it is done and a lesson learned possibly.
