Hi All, I wonder if anyone can tell me about this road? On the map it seems to be quite twisty and (probably) steep due to the terrain, has anyone towed a big van through that way and can advise please?

Hi I always use that route when travel the golden highway .There is very little traffic the road is a little bumpy but a very easy and scenic drive along the valley and flat except the hill at the southbound end and northern end but nothing major its definitely more pleasurable than the main drag and you tow any size van on that road with ease. There is also a free camp near the Bylong store be a small one at that.
Cheers

Semi-trailers use it so your van should fit along it. Whether you like it or not will depend upon your confidence in using twisting roads and your competence on those roads. I suggest you try it and build up your confidence and competence. When you gain good confidence on those roads you will be able to enjoy Tasmania.
