Well if they do start fining people how about the crystals, feathers, soft toys and team coloured scarves just a few bloody stupid things to block ones view.

When in my 20's a friend got fined for hanging fluffy dice on his mirror. Nothings has changed but its an area police haven't enforced very often.

Face mask hanging on mirror $349 + 3 points in NSW. Various fines for other States.
Should be $1000 for anything hanging from a mirror or anything blocking a drivers view. Should also be fined $1000 for being plain stupid.
Cheers Bob

& probably for all the parking permits (2 local council permits, 1 for the beach & 1 for local streets), park passes from around the country, etag etc, covering the windscreen!

Don't have an internal rear view mirror. They are not a legal requirement, so I am not sure how there would be an offence for covering one.
I have a reversing camera screen in that position.
Cheers,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's for covering the mirror but for having something dangling from the mirror which obstructs the view out the front windscreen.

Look...
Why waste everybody's time with meagre fines and points.
Why stop at $1000 plus for such a serious criminal offence.
Go the full hog folks.
Throw the book at 'em. Fine 'em the max possible then arrest 'em and run 'em through the full penalties of the law and if that means incarceration then so be it!

Its not that it blocks the mirror , it might block vision when you look to the left past the mirror
My daughter hangs stuff from her mirror , drives me nuts , if I ever drive her car I take it off , she puts it straight back on .
I will never hang anything from my mirror .

They do hit those, particularly when a driver fails the personality test.

It saves time rather than finding some other defect. easy peasy.
