Had to pick up a few things at Aldi. As usual had a browse along the specials. Saw they had Cable Ties on special. On closer look they have 2 types. The usual 500 piece set and a 50 piece set of reusable ties. Brought the reusable ties. Price is up though this time.

Yes Glenn,
Just been there & bought three packets of them - one for me & two for friends back home in Townsville.
And I also took a grooming set that I bought 2.5 years ago back to them. It came with a 3 year warranty, wouldn't accept a charge anymore. I assumed the batteries are clapped (charger still worked). They took it, wrote the reason for the return & GAVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!
You can't beat that!!

We are constantly picking them up, they are cut off & dropped, often in multiples, 3 yesterday on a short walk.

I've used a few stainless steel ones too. Good for out in the weather where the plastic one deteriorate over time. They can be undone to with a bit of trickery.

Where (when) I worked (Food Production plant) We had to stop using the Stainless ones, because of the number of people who cut themselves on the trimmed ends. They were really great for longevity but as you can imagine with hundreds of them in use. The trimmed ends were like scalpels if not done correctly.

The normal ones are reusable too...they can usually be easily undone and reused.

G'day Moose2,
Yes I'm aware one can reuse the plastic ties but it involves the use of a pocket screw drive to force the locking "pin" down. I can't recall how many times that I've had close shaves, cut fingers when the screw driver slips. They used to frown on such unsafe practices when I was working.
I'll make good use of these reusable ties.

I often reuse them if they are long enough, but I do use the more expensive ties made from high temperature nylon.
I just stick the end of a very small penknife blade in the end. Have never cut myself.
For things which need undoing a lot I use the self attaching Velcro.
