Hi all, Old and Myself have being on the road now for three weeks.
Stopped over night in Yalgoo WA. The caravan park there is first class.
Went to the pub to support the local with a few drinks and meals, only to be told to tie our pup up outside. The local dogs are welcome. But not ours.
Heather Hewitt from the ABC did a interview 12 months back on the survival of the Pub going under.
The pub had two clients plus us, till the same publican told us to remove our mutt sitting under out table.
We told him to keep both meals and our drinks.
Covid job keeper is keeping you.
You are making more here, then you tune over in a week.
Every other pub welcomes our $$$. Very poor.
And they are crying. Load of BS.

Don't necessarily blame the pub owner as it may be a local shire thing, we were in the wheat belt in Moora WA and visited a local coffee shop and were asked very politely to not have our dog under the table as the local ranger was red hot at handing out on the spot fines, this was outside in the alfresco area, the shire had deemed it against health rules to have a dog even in alfresco area.
The cafe owner was most apologetic and said we could tie our girl up to a side fence where the passing ranger would not see her.
Stupid rules probably created by dog haters on a power trip.

It seems most unfair if local dogs are allowed in the pub, and yours were not. Are they allowed into the dining areas of the pub, or just the general bar area. Yours isnt an especially large dog is it?
That said, with the exception of assistance dogs, I do not see the need for dogs to go everywhere that people are allowed, shops, other businesses, and especially into eating areas. I certainly prefer for dogs not to be inside public dining rooms when I am there.
And yes, we have had dogs and travelled with them.
PS. Yalgoo is a nice little town and area, and the caravan park has the best amenities and amenities block I have seen. I am certain they would have welcomed your $$$s though.

Have to agree 100%, can you just imagine 20-30+ people sitting down in the front bar with each having a dog, or even in the dining area.
I am a dog lover, had 5 over the years, but never ever took our dogs with us and expected entry into shops, businesses or pubs, clubs. THEY stayed home!
I know a lot of people travel with dogs more so today than years ago, thanks to some very generous caravan park people who started excepting pooches, but I don't see the need to take them everywhere!
