Our motorhome is now 18 yrs old and clocked up close to 1/2-million km. Overall it has done great service - it's a Ford Transit by the way - and although it has had a few issues along the way, over the last couple of years the driver's seat forward / backward adjustment has been a bit dicky ... sometimes it would slide a bit leaving my bum too far from the pedals
I have spent hours and hours on the internet trying to find someone to look at the seat with no success. Most suggested I needed replacement seat rails, as all the local motor mechanics told me that they can't fix under the seats ~ but even seat rails were hard to get, not even from the wreckers that I contacted
Last week going through Biloela in Qld I came across a truck with large signage "we're the seat repair people ~ no job too small no job too large". It is "The Seat Shop" and Brendan will answer the phone, Alex looks at the seats and Natasha does the upholstry
Alex looked at both the bucket seats, removed them from their seat frames and found and replaced the worn bits. Natasha repaired the sheep-skin seat covers that after a decade of use were showing considerable signs of wear 'n tear, and 2 hours later we're on the road again ~ all for a cost similar to a good restaurant meal
So- if your RV seats are looking a bit sad or the adjustment/s are a bit "iffy" and your travels are likely to come near Biloela, I invite you to detour and chat with them about possibilities
Hope this is useful to others Phil Jones = = = Highly Recommended to fellow travellers :- Biloela "The Seat Shop" 115 Kariboe St, Biloela QLD 4715 (07) 4992 6611
