Could be like a previous event. Someone with covid in Melbourne had a post office box in Mildura & no one could move! Things change quickly.
Have a plan B via Barrier Highway. Or plan C the dirt roads north of the border.

Difficult to keep a handle on things, this is the best I can find:
Seems QLD is now demanding anyone who has been in Melbourne to quarrantine.

Queensland restrictions and quarantine are for people who have been in the City of Whittlesea since May 11. People from other parts if Vic just need to fill in a border pass (which is used in tracing if required). As with all interstate travel, you need to check each State's expectations daily until you cross a relevant border because things can and do change.

Vic border pass will be required to enter Mildura from NSW. Should not be a problem. SA border pass required to enter SA from Mildura. Should not be a problem but check daily as things can change quickly. An alternative may be to go to Wentworth( NSW), Then to Broken Hill, enter SA (permit required), cross to Pt Augusta and proceed north from there. Bypass Vic completely

I'm so angry. Only travel the daughter and I will be doing is to the testing center for a swab. We happen to be in a store within the time period listed. Daughter only had a swab last week as she is a health worker and had to do it. Now we're had some 60 year old wandering around for 10 days with symptoms. Exposure site list is growing fast. Hold onto your hats ladies and gentlemen, we're in for a bumpy ride for some time.

Welcome to the new world. Governments have new powers and they are using it to control our lives.
I'm waiting to see to if they stop footy crowds and the V8s in Winton. If you can't have more than 5 in your house how the hell can they justify a footy crowd. Yes and the person with the problems was at the footy on the weekend. So do those folks all have to register all their contacts? Port fans have gone back to SA.
All the so called experts are now saying we have to learn to live with covid. Just like any other contagious disease.
God please protect us from covid and politicians.

Since Covid started both world wide and in Australia, every case bar none has traced back to someone coming into our country from overseas.
It certainly amazes me that our powers to be can not realise this.
I am not saying GENUINE AUSSIES should not be allowed to return but permitting overseas travel by stealth by those in control is extremely negligent to say the least.
We, once again have a situation which is presenting the possibility of lockdowns and restricted travel occurring for the third time internally in Australia. The cost of this to thousands of Aussie businesses is horendous.
Close the international borders completely, no exceptions, until all hotel and other quarantine stations are clear of any infected people then if someone needs to come in they have a series of Covid checks prior to entering to ensure all our safety.
If anyone wishes to leave the country then they need to be advised that they wont be coming back until this pandemic is under control.
This may be harsh but thousands of genuine aussies were restricted from visiting sick and dying family members during all of our previous lockdowns.
If Victoria once again becomes out of control then closed borders will be the norm unfortunately.
Probably more back on topic, communication between the states would go a long way to providing travellers with current up to date rules re border crossings.
Regards
Rob

If you get the vaccination you can still get covid and also pass it on. Doesn't anyone get it. The vaccine will NOT stop the spread. Look it up for yourself.
Guess what. No test needed, no quarantine needed. Within 1 hour of my post the hotspot we visited was updated. The new date for the visit was out by a day. Seems like the spreader gave them the wrong date.

The vaccines will reduce the spread of C19 because it will be less active in people who are vaccinated. It is my understanding no vaccine completely eliminates a host spreading.
And if a vaccinated person contracts C19 its symptoms will be more like a cold and your chances of not becoming seriously or dying are *immensely* greater.
Not having the AZ vaccine because you are afraid of blood clots is simply foolish and indicates a lack of critical thinking.

That's ok Mike. I'm just trying to make the point that the vaccine isn't the magic bullet some folks seem to think it is. The 'experts' are divided on how effective it is of slowing down the spread. I still believe the sooner we all get the jab the better. It will/may stop a few politicians from making points from lockdowns.
FWIW I almost died from bloods clots. PE. My hematologist has given me the green light to get any of the jabs. I'm a very high risk patient. I haven't had it yet simply because I've been too lazy to book in at my GP for the shot. But I will.

It seems when someone gets the vaccine it comes with a pair of black jackboots. So they can dictate to other people, what they should do or think.
As I have said ,your body your choice,my body my choice.

No point asking about border crossings here.
You will only get blasted by the usual medical specialists who demand you do what they say.
Best you go directly to the relevant Covid information site to see the latest official media releases.
And about vaccinations...it's your decision at the end.
Just saying!
