Currently half way across the Eyre Highway. Have not seen a single road kill between Norseman and Eucla. Also did not see any terrestrial animals along the way until Mundrabilla Station when we spied some cattle.

We always notice more road kill when it's dry. They come to drink out of the puddles on the bitumen

I saw a pink elephant coming coming home from the pub one night. Does that count?

I well remember one trip in the '60s somewhere west of Eucla I saw a giraffe and then an elephant and realised I must pull over and sleep, had been on the road by myself for 19 hours. Never did that again and I couldn't now.

Had friends working in the mines in WA. They drove for several hours. Driving and drinking as they did in those days. Pulled over and had a sleep. A few hours later they hit the road again. Still not sober. But found themselves back at the mine. They hadn't realised they had turned around!!!
