If it is just the aerial that needs to be replaced any handy man can do it - If the cabling has to be rerun it can get expensive and may need to be done by a caravan repairer - Is you van composite or aluminium clad?

Just re - run my coax ! This time I run conduit so next time it much easier! Plus it helps seal any chance of water leaks ! Leaving the coax to more as required!! Most just get it working but after a while ? The wire in coax fails ! Hth

quattro,
Are there no notices in the Recommendations tab? That's one area to check out.

Yep I fitted my own into a pop top and used the conduit from Bunnings. It is square and has a removable cover. Don't let them tell you it is a complex job.

Hi all; Replacing the coax cable in caravans can and most likely be a real pain in the back side !!! each caravan will throw up it's set of problems . What i have done for customers at the time is to run a new length of coax a total easier way. Trying to gain access to the cable and use it as a pull through and all of the bends that the cable would be run through the walls. I try and keep it simple with the new run of coax cable. The backs of cupboards and shelves are possible. Sometimes even a cable entry gland and a small hole though the wall is the only way. Roof mounted antennas have their own problems and fixes and a real headache. The last thing you want to do is destroy the appearance of your caravan by turning it into swiss cheese !! Coax cable does not like sharp bends and can even cause good quality cable to to inject problems with reception.

Thank you everyone for your advise and the van is composite.
The main problem is the electrical so i will go onto recommended tab.
