I just read the article on small town pubs that offer Free Camping for travellers.
It would be great if these small town pubs were listed on sites like WIKICAMPS etc
My brother-in-law has stopped at a few of these pubs and always sings their praises, some charge a couple of bucks for a night and some are free if you buy a beer and a meal at the pub, best of both worlds if you ask me, a free / cheap campsite all for the price of a cold beer and a meal. When we start our travels again we will definitely be stopping at some of the pubs my brother-in-law has recommende.

If you want to know more about "Free" camping at Pubs have a look at the Facebook Group "Country Pub Camping"
There's another FB Group that I sometimes use "Showgrounds Camping"

Agree with Cupid they are great sites to check out.
We free camp fairly regularly at pub stays. Costs us about a hundred bucks because we have a meal and both like a few drinks. Our choice though, never any pressure to spend that much and to us money well spent.

They are listed in wikicamps. Hundreds of them, but they don't have a separate category though (a good thing too)
Personally (as one not getting any pleasure in propping up a bar), by the time you get your evening skinful and buy a couple of overpriced unhealthy meals, it turns into a 1 star camping experience at 5 star prices.
Exceptions of course...

Tony Lee, OUCH! But yes you are right, definitely not Free Camping. Not sure about your comment on the food, most country pubs have basic home style cooking. I think most caravaners stay at country pubs for altruistic reasons, not for the quality of the camping or food but to support these little businesses that or are often marginal businesses that struggle to survive and may not without our support.
